Greetings! I just took delivery of my 85 QV (59099) on Thursday! Oh my, what a fun car!! After years of casually looking and learning more and more about these cars on FChat(you can see Ive been lurking for sometime), I finally pulled the trigger! I bought the car from a private seller out of the Sacramento area. Irondogmike gave the car its initial look-over and I cant thank him enough for taking the better part of a day being another set of unbiased eyes. Mike youre a true enthusiast and a great value to our community! Following this, the PPI went very well (ended up replacing a weeping water pump and will need to replace the tires soon due to age but that was it for the big stuff) and shipped it out to the Twin Cities using Intercity Lines. That process was very smooth. Since Thursday, Ive spent virtually all of my time giving rides to my boys, wife, neighbors, friends, etc. The more you drive it, the happier it is. It is just an intoxicating ride the feel, the sounds, the driving position, everything! I am still getting to know the car and am sure I will have many questions, but in the meantime, I thought Id introduce myself and my new QV! Congrats on a fine looking car. You are right that the more you drive them the better they run. I put about 5,000 miles a year on my car and it runs great. Of course the down side is that your face gets sore from all the smiling. Enjoy the ride.
Congratulations! Nothin' like the feeling you get when you see that delivery truck door open and your 308 emerging!
I'm glad to see she got to her new home ok Michael, make sure you register it on wades site, www.308qvregister.com and enjoy the car, also I have to say I had the joy of driving her and have to say Michael you got a great car there clean and all o.e.m.and you had a very good mechanic Eric Corfee check her out that did the PPI,enjoy and gratts on your new ferrari,oh you might even think about putting the car on ferrarichats owners site now that your a silver sub,
I figured the interior shot would generate a few comments You know, when I first saw her, I was pretty much like whoa! But after learning more and more about her and seeing the condition she was in, it just grew on me. Now, I really do like it. Both interior and exterior are all original. Shes got 36K miles, documented service history (with a new clutch), original window sticker and original owner through 03, and was at a very aggressive price point. At any rate thanks for the feedback and glad she got a few comments!!!
Congrats!!! Very cool color combination and the black piping is a nice contrast. I've only seen one other 308 that was red on red and it was a late 70's carbed GTS. I think there is also an Fchatter here with a red on red Euro 328. I am sure you will grow to love it more with each drive. Best regards, Dino
Hi Mike. Didn't I see you at Concorso Italiano last year. Do me a favor and post some video. Can't wait to hear it. Looks fantastic! Congrats! Brian
Nothing like seeing YOUR Ferrari on a lift in front of YOUR house. Nice. Welcome, congrats and enjoy!
I owned this EXACT SAME CAR in Europe in 1985! This is the first one I've seen like it. My girlfriend called it "rossisima" thinking it was the ultimate in "redness". Congratulations! Great looking machine.
Jay took some great photos. Thanks for the note. I'll work on some video soon! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations Michael, it looks like a fine choice. I am looking forward to seeing the car "up close"
Early carb car, spoted at local show a while ago. Note the cool radio head on a stalk. Don't know what's up with the pass seat cover ... or the door handle ...
