    Hello,
I was told that someone here on Fchat has the actual Ferrari repair manual for the 82 308 GTSi. There is a thread on the FCA website stating that Fchat has a downloadable file. I would be VERY appreciative if this can happen. Love the horse but I am in need of knowledge! Thanks in advance! T. Jachim

Don't know where FCA got that info.

No such manual exists or ever has (to the best of my knowledge).

If you want "Fix It" for the 80-82 308 GTB/Si's you need to use the 308 GTB4 and Mondial 8 Work Shop Manuals. NO WSM were ever printed for those cars. Part of the fun of owning one of them.

Those manuals are out their on the net. Search manuals here and several links will pop up. There is no archive for manuals on F-Chat (that I know of).

Sorry, you got lead down a non-existant path.

Do you just want a manual to feel secure? Or do you have a problem and are seeking specific information?

When I bought my car a dozen years ago, I was in the first situation. I was told the GT4 Workshop
and Parts manual was 'it' and bought paper copies for $100 each. Since then I've learned he was right.
Except now days there are digital copies on the web plus operators manuals and other bits and pieces
but still no single comprehensive service manual.

One source of free files is the Steve Jenkins Shrine http://ferrari.stevejenkins.com/
If you need electrical stuff, that's available too (aren't you proud I didn't give my url). And for
specific problems, there's F-Chat with it's many experts.

My personal favorite place for operators manuals and odd documentation is an Aussy site,
http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_Downloads/Downloads.htm The only caveat is their pdf files
are all locked meaning you can't copy/paste or print individual pieces or pages.
I've had to obtain an unlock program to accomplish that...see me if you need any pdfs unlocked.

Good luck with your new hobby.

Thanks for the reply! I will follow the links and hopefully find some info. I am perplexed that Ferrari didnot print a manual for this car. I have asked questions on the FCA forum with no response. Things like "what is the output of the thermocouples" and do they serve any other purpose other than the warning lights? Can the AIR ports be plugged without removing the engine? I intend to pull the engine out this winter and correct all the minor leaks but would very much like to make the RA run in July. I purchased the Mondial manual and found that the 4seaters' drive train drops out the bottom------------------- doesn't take a manual to see that the GTSi exits through the top. My main concern is that at 59 my memory has slipped a bit and a proper manual would help the recall department.
In closing let me say that Fchat seems to be a Forum with guys that love the F cars and not just the clothing! thanks Tom

    Tom,

You are welcome. Hope you stick around.

You want the Mondial 8/QV Work Shop Manual. ONLY the Mondi 8 portion will be of any REAL help for the '80-'82 308 cars. Same engine/transmission. The other Mondi (3.2 & T) manuals WILL NOT HELP YOU at all.

Yes, do a search again and there is a thread a couple of months back where a guy did in fact remove all the tubes and plug all 8 of the sampling tube holes in the headers with the engine in place. Took some real effort, even had to work using a mirror and "by feel" as direct line-of-sight was usually impossible (on the 5-8 bank), BUT HE DID IT.

As I said before, the Mondi 8/QV Work Shop Manual, the 308 GTB/Si Parts Cat (those exist and one for sale on eBay now), a wiring diagram, Owner's Manual and F-Chat are about all you have available for your car ('80-'82) and is really about all you need to do most of the work on your car.

    Good Luck and Again, Welcome.
