What do people think about having two F1 divisions, one for budget capped cars and one for unlimited? There appear to be enough proposals for budget capped teams to put together another category. These teams could then develop their cars and sponsorships and move into unlimited at some point of circumstances permitted. It would also set up a really interesting rivalry with budget capped teams trying to match unlimited times. They would run in separate races, giving the fans more for their $$ also.

A two tiered system within Formula One only adds a additional layer to a complicated sport that further alienates new viewers. Developing teams, sponsors and crews is what Formula 3 and GP2 are for. It should not be happening in F1.

You would be watching races with 10-12 cars.....not very enticing.

This would clearly not be worth doing if there were only 5 or 6 teams in a division. On the other hand, we are currently watching no more than 8 or 10 cars competing.

Think what you are saying, man - what if a budget capped car should BEAT FERRARI!?!

Not such a stretch, IMHO, considering this season so far...

While we are at it, let's add a few more divisions......production sedan, homebuilts, diesel and jet engine classes....let them all run together and call it F1......

Better idea, let's go back to the handicapping systems of the twenties and thirties. NOT.
If you need to fill up the grids let the underclass be called F2 and give them their own championship.
