Its that time of year again for the St. Louis European Car Show at Plaza Frontenac. Its June 7th, 2009 from 11am -. Cars need to be there starting at 10am -11.

The proceeds from the show benefit the St Louis Shriners Hospital for Children Building Fund.

I'm registered to be there but Sera is currently in the shop having her alternator worked on. If shes done and I can clean her up she'll be there. Otherwise I'm a spectator. The silent auction items are usually awesome.

We are signed up. Been cleaning Prugna for days trying to get her presentable enough. I am using Frontenac as the dry run to getting the car cleaned up for the FCA National at the end of July.

The grandson will be with us and Miriam will bring his Ferrari F1 battery powered car too (it doesn't fit in Prugna).

Hopefully the weather will cooperate but the on-line forecast is still showing Saturday and Sunday as thunderstorms.

Who is displaying what? I'll have our '85 308 GTS QV (prugna) there.

I remember that last year there were some interesting cars in the parking lot that were not in the show.

Looking forward to checking it out this year. Also plan on checking out C&C for the first time, I haven't been in town for the previous months. Should be a good weekend!

I assume that its too late for a spot?[/QUOTE]

I don't know but it is worth checking with the organizers. Go to the show's website, there is a link to e-mail Dan in the "participant" section. He can quickly tell you if there is still room for another entry.

I would really like to see your 612. I find it a very under rated exterior design that does not photograph nearly as well as the car appears in person.

Just checked the weather projection and it says cloudy for Sunday instead of thunderstorms.

i actually just heard an ad on the radio for the show, that's the first time i think i've ever heard it really advertised, should be a good turnout this year.

I've seen a number of print ads in various local publications, posted at Sbux, etc.

this is a fund raiser for the Shriner's Hospital which is currently building a new facility so I guess they're trying to maximize the amt raised in a tough economic environment.

I'll be there but I'm not going to be entering in my car. Last year there were almost as many Ferraris in the parking lot as there were in the show.
I think it would become a better show if there more exotics in the show then two rows of BMWs. They could have had two rows of Italian cars last year.
Leave the 3 series at home.

that's one of the problems with this show, even though it's possibly the best one in town. a lot of the bmw's/benzes that are entered every year are ones you can see by just standing there at the corner of lindbergh and clayton on any given day, but it is for charity, so let them enter.

I dont think Dan limits the entries of any one brand of car. Its all based upon fist come - first served on registration. He emailed me about two weeks ago and still had about 50 spots open. Come on guys get the Fcars in the show! The money goes for a good cause. Its not imperative that the car be spotless. I just got Sera (89 Mondi T) out of the repair shop a few hours ago and I only have time to put a quick wash & "quick" wax on her tomorrow. She wont be detailed completely but I'm not lookin win any prizes either. (no lookin in the engine compartment, she's dirty) Man It felt good to drive her again today. See ya there. Hopefully the rain will stay away until the end of the show like a few years ago.

Blink you sellin your 355? I thought I saw an ad somewhere a while back. No better place to subtley advertise it than at the show.

Make sure to stop by even if you are not entered. Got the exterior done and the nose compartment too. The interior is along but not done. The engine compartment is in-progress (waiting for the the replacement gas struts that the son in-law still owes as a Christmas present). The bad part about a major detailing is finding all the little flaws.

Why dont they put it in the garage? It bummed me out to leave but given the thought the show would basically end upon rain it was a no brainer.
Thanks to posted the ics of my car -ish

I'm offended; Parker's F1 car next to Prugna didn't make a sufficient photo opp for you?

a lot of cars ended up there anyway.

it would make sense, that way you don't have to worry about rain outs. and I think the garage is big enough, though it wouldn't have the ambiance of being outside (if it was nice). maybe the fire marshal isn't excited about a bunch of old cars and spectators in an underground garage?
