Saw a red Countach bombing down Queen St. in Brampton on Friday night around 2AM.
Spotted a few cars on a chilly Sunday in Yorkville... Red 430 coupe, silver SLR, red 355 Spyder, and an awesome white/white/white GT3.
Can someone inform me what the duty & brokage fees from UPS would be on tires valued at approx $600US +$100 shipping from Tirerack, or is there a local place to buy tires that can compete with Tirerack prices, considering the shipping ,duty and brokage fees one must pay going with Tirerack. [since our dollar is doing great]Thanks.
Tirerack ships to Canada. If you enter a CDN zip code upon shipping quotes, you will see a complete breakdown of all fess/duties/taxes involved As for a local place to compete with Tireracks' pricing, there are only two I know of and have had good experiences with both. Try SimplyTire near York University (more reliable IMO) and tires23 in Mississauga.
Because everyone in Quebec is now required to use snow tires (in the winter of course!), I found a relevant article. http://www.tirereview.com/default.aspx?type=wm&module=4&id=2&state=DisplayFullText&item=13242 According to the Canadian Border Information Service, Quebec residents who buy tires here and declare them at customs pay taxes of 12.5% 5% federal, and 7.5% Quebec. Theres no duty if the tires were manufactured in North America, thanks to the North American Free Trade Agreement. For tires made in Europe or Japan, though, Canadas customs duty is 7%. You're better off to call UPS to see how many of these charges they'll stick on you (and from lots of buying on Ebay, I make sure to never use UPS). http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/rates_canada.html
Yes, there are a few good local sources. However, Rocco may be looking at a specific tire size that are specific for certain Ferrari models. This means you gotta go cross-border. Such a Koker Tire (Sp) etc. On that note, for those of you that don't know...make a note. Koker Tire will be your friend when wanting to replace vintage tires with hard-to-get tires specs.
Spotted a few other goodies yesterday that will be running tonite @ a special auction Image Unavailable, Please Login
They are doing a complete reorganization of the company, staff and inventory. That's about all I can say at the moment. Sergio is fine as are the rest of the boys.
Good evening Gents; I live in the GTA Close to woodbridge in fact and am considering a lamborghini espada purchase > Can anyone point me to an expert mechanic who works on these or other early 12 cyl cars in the GTA? G
I told Sergio he should come on and say something before people started speculating but as Tom say's undergoing a COMPLETE re-organization eg., new management, new salespeople and a whole new building!
A nice silver 550 going east on lakeshore at about 5ish... sounded nice. (just so you know - one of your headlights are out )
Some nice metal at the sale tonite... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This beautiful 9k 1991 TR brought in some good dough! Others cars running were the usual 360's, a yellow 96 355 spider (sold) a beautiful blue 575 and a DB9s. Another interesting car that sold was Todd Bertuzzi's 06 Conti GT that you can see peaking in the back Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm flying in today for the ABS tomorrow and Saturday at U of T. Just crossed my mind someone may be attending from here. If so, drop me a note. http://www.eastcoastconnected.ca/events/the-atlantic-business-summit Cheers, Curt ('87 Mondial Cab from Nova Scotia)
A complete re-organization? I thought it was just Sergio and his son that were working there? Where are they moving now?
True, sometimes that is the case. However, a few sold last nite but I don't know the overall results. The last highline sale that I commented on 2 months ago or so was a hit! 80% sold! But keep in mind that this "highline" sale includes a couple of hundred other "high end" cars like Acura, BMW, Benz, Audi
Sorry brother, I dont mind sharing these pics and info but I will not get into exact pricing. It's not fair for dealers to have their costs out there. This is not a public auction or else it would not matter. There are actually people out there who will call the dealer, tell them they know what they paid and still offer them less. Tires kickers are the worst. People out there really feel that everyone is allowed to make money except dealers
