Let me be the first (of many) to congratulate you on another triumph. Your quality of fabrication, as always, is impeccable. This quality, in combination with the dramatic increase in air flow and air charge temperature, make purchasing these a no brainer. You truly are the mechanical MVP of the F355 Fratelli.

One thing, however. May I suggest a lovely GOLD powdercoat instead of nero. Please see the link below for someone with true taste and sophistication.

Hey Goth; they look great, are you going to be selling these or did you make them for your car only?

Glad you like them guys :)! These were hand crafted in the ' gothspeed laboratory abyss' ...............and they are the final interation of my earlier 'prototypes'. The velocity stack was reshaped to increase velocity at lower air demands while maintaining full flow capacity at higher air demands.

During early flow tests it was discovered that even a straight cut 3" tube flowed noticeably better than the stock 5.2 air box tops, especially at higher flow demands ...... and this final design flows 10% better than the straight cut tube! These make 5-6 RWHP with a stock exhaust muffler and should make even more when coupled with a performance exhaust ............ and since I had to make tooling to make these examples .... more can surely be made ;) .......... there is even another set already reserved for a certain Giallo 355F1 on the east coast ................!!

I'm guessing you tested them against the original prototypes?

I have the GruppeM airbox on my 95 F355 and I know it made a big difference in the mid range. I know there are alot of doubters that an airbox can make a difference but it does.

Yes ........ these new stacks were closer taliored to the flow rates of the siamese 5.2 setup. They have improved velocity at midrange without restricting higher air demands ...... :)!

    +1 ........ it does make a difference ;)!

Looks nice, but isn't an increase in charge air temps a bad thing? Seems like a metal airbox would soak up heat...

Hah, what you don't know is that there is a special gothspeed heat shield that makes the stock one look like a piece of serran wrap! Besides the stock ones are metal too and these are the same dimensions, only bigger at the proper end.

As for a 2.7 version, should be a pretty easy modificatoin, eh gothster?

More importantly, how about the 348 2.7 version, hmmm????

........ still being kicked around the noodle ......... tentatively ..... I do see some potential gains for the 348 air top ..... ;)

    ............ :p

    ........... lol ............. :D

Yes .......... 'nero alleanza' members will get priority ................

lol .......... thanks for waiting Robbie ....... ;)

From what I recall the 2.7 version is actually pretty well shaped already. Post a pick of the underside of yours if possible. :)

There is no 'increase' in charge air temps ........ though because these have a lower 'frontal' profile ..... they may see less 'direct' hot air contact as the heat travels upward/rearward ..... :)

Yes! I just finished the new mold for the new shield ....... as you said it will protect the underside and front of the lower air boxes halves ....... along with shielding the MAF from 'direct' hot air. I have also created a path to expel hot air from under the heat shield to take advantage of the venting afforded by the challenge grill ...... :)!

Sorry about my mis-type. I meant an increase in air flow and a decrease in air charge temperature. You are absolutely right, cooler air is more dense, hence more "air" for a given volume. I may be wrong, but I thought Goth was going to put some type of reflective material on the lower part of the air box and/or develop a heat shield.

    Thanks :)!!

+1 ...... these flow about 20% better than stock :D

Yes I do have a new shield in the works ..... the first iteration worked really well ....... it covered the bottoms and front of the air boxes as well as the MAF ......... but I have since refined the design so the hot air that previously hit the tops has an alternate path to get out of the engine compartment .............. :)

Hail nero!! ........... ............ you are on the list .......... :D
