Regardless, there always has to be something you are attracted to physically about the other person. It may not happen at first, but AFTER you've gotten to known someone you may not have found attractive at first could find attractive later on.

My friend wanted to introduce me to his co-worker. We talked and text several times before I took her to dinner. We had reasonably good conversation before we met (not as smooth as I'd like, but did talk for hours). I wasn't thrilled when I first met her (blind date), but as the date went on I found her a little more attractive.

After all was said and done I wasn't "feeling it" really, but we will be going out again this week. The older I get the more I find certain woman attractive that I never would have 10 years ago. Attraction can be instant, but it's also something that build over time as well.

I am ugly as hell. It doesn't matter how I carry myself, how I dress, etc... when you are ugly there just isn't any way to recover.

I have noticed, however, that when I wear my contacts (which burn my eyes like a *****) I get more attention from women. When I wear glasses they avoid me like a leper. Kida sad... but true.

    Amen brother!

I am eternally grateful my job does not depend on my looks or I'd have some hungry babies.

I used to sell suits for a job, so I was always in a suit. People definitely treat you better - even had girls strike up conversations with me while I was filling up my car at the gas station. It was a Volvo, so I knew it wasn't the car.

My sister got that. Her night vision is shot, and she had to start using glasses for certain things again. I would not want that at all :(

Anyone ever heard of the 90-90 rule? Apparently you've made 90% of your mind up about someone within 90 seconds of meating them. No matter what it is, looks, personality, everything. As for me.............. it doesn't effect my day to day life.

I find that stuffing a large cucumber into my pants (front...back not so good...:)), makes a big difference! :D

Actually, I remember watching a show on discovery chan that mentioned some experiment where they had a guy pull up to a cafe, with outside chairs filled with women, and the women were supposed to "rate" how he looked.
First he pulled up in an average car and was dressed "average" and got a score of 6 (IIRC).
The next day, different women, he pulled up in an expensive car and was dressed in a nice suit...and was now like a 9 or something.

I went out and bought a Maserati right away!
    :)

I had it 10 years ago. Came out with perfect vision and no issues at all, even at night. Had an eye exam last month, my vision is still almost perfect. But as you age, your eyes change and glasses for certain things isn't unreasonable. It got me out of contacts and dollar for dollar was the best $ I ever spent on anything.

I agree. Had Intralase done in Orlando in January and it's the best money I've ever spent. Seeing 20/15 now.

Can guys with easily visible tattoos comment on how you were treated before and after you got them inked? I've got some on my body that can only be seen if I wear a singlet, but I'm somewhat reluctant to get them on my arms in case they affect my ability to get a job.

That experiment is totally worthless since they used different women the second time :( They would need to use the same women at around the same time, otherwise do maybe 50 runs with different women to get a feel for the average response (to rule out individual preference).

there is a huge thread on this in the subscribed section....well worth the $15

Short answer (since I have my right arm mostly covered) YES it matters if you are in a professional environment. People do judge and it could hurt your career.

However if you are exceptionally good (and have the resume to back it up) at what you do or are in a creative environment you get accepted far easier. I am both one of the best at what I do and its a creative gig so I could have my face covered in ink and Id still be fine.
