I just purchased AutoSports "all in one" flat tire fix...has the liquid and air pump in one unit. Won't ruin your wheel, won't hurt your tire, and enviro safe, now how can you beat that.

I posted this picture some time back showing a 16" x 8" rear tire won't fit into the spare compartment of my 1980 390mm (14") car - assuming one has a flat rear and used the spare tire. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=202235

Well, today I removed the spare tire plastic cowl cover piece, and found that huge rear 16" x 8" tire will just barely fit in the spare area. The hood won't close but I believe the car would be driveable with it up a bit. Didn't try it, but think the slightly smaller 16" x 7" front tire will allow the front bonnet to close. That warrants carrying the spare and removing the plastic piece if needed which can be carried in the passenger seat, whereas the 16" tires won't fit in the passenger seat. So I'm going to keep my ugly 40# 390 spare where it belongs in the car and still carry fix-a-flat and a Phillips screwdriver for the cowl piece.

I have the factory original tire on it still in the tirewell & it's in near-mint condition.
And I'm glad I have/had it too. Sunday afternoon in a remote part of the state taking a g/f for lunch at a rustic tavern the rear tire blew (from an imperfection: Dunlop 6000s).
Changed it at the tavern's parking lot. The only hassle was the rear tire didn't fit back into the well so well. But all's well that ends well (couldn't resist)
I drew quite a few folks watching a ferrari owner swap a tire.
But I didn't have to wait for a AAA towtruck, didn't have to wait for them to find some odball tire or hunt around for 4 new ones
    and the g/f wasn't inconvenienced.

Mine stays. Besides, except for a sub woofer, what would I want that measly extra space for???

I agree with Michael above, when I had my 308qv , I tried it w/o the spare,
balance was off ,very noticable. Put it back in. Besides it's not like you'll be racing
    your car where weight matters.

The only way to beat that would be for the guy who sold it to you to have some miracle snake oil in another can that will restore your hairline, allow you to add six inches of solid muscle to your biceps in six days, lose 30 lbs of fat in 30 days, and lengthen your, um, hose an additional five inches.

Buy the snake oil, get the flat tire fix free!
