LOL that's funny... do women really hate guys with glasses?

I've got a neanderthal look going on - pretty strongly defined muscles/bones in my face, especially chin and cheekbones, and a goatee. I wear contacts but I often change it up with glasses purely for fashion reasons. I've been told I look "smart" with my glasses on, and I think it can definitely change your look. I actually always considered it something I did to look 'better', but maybe it's not better, just different?

I still maintain all this stuff about posture and dressing nicely is all well and good, but it's not gonna land a cutie for an ugly dude. It's like with women... I've seen really hot women in the supermarket in sweatpants, and they still exude hotness. Clothing can raise you up a bit, but Michael Moore in a tux is still going to get laughed at if he approaches Eva Longoria.

Chicks LOVE guys with glasses...at least the ones I know do.

Works for me ! I would say I am a 4 or a 5 on the 1-10 of attractiveness yet Ive dated models, playmates, actresses...Its gotta be all about personality and the way I carry myself as I sure dont have enough money to impress L.A. chicks.

In your case, I think it's probably mostly personality and your attitude.

Without trying to be too offensive to any fellow f-chatters (don't mean you Jerry), I always laugh when I read things about how to pick up chicks. It blows me away that people actually read books and study how to get women. Anyone can get a woman, but they are studying how to get women above their level. Can you imagine changing who you are so that a woman who woudln't otherwise be interested in you, becomes interested? I think we're the same on this front Jerry... we are who we are. So many focus on appearances and forget about substance. After your inherent physical characteristics, there is nothing more attractive to a woman than a great personality. If you're interesting, funny, charming and confident - it's like crack to a woman. Being a wannabe player who read a book about being slightly condescending to women to make them want to come back for more, may work on some insecure hooch... but it's not going to be condusive a long term relationship, and if someone is putting on an act to impress women - it's going to be awfully hard to keep that act up for decades to keep her :D

I think books like 'The Game', etc, show you how to SLEEP with women above your level, they don't provide much guidance on how to cultivate a long term relationship with such women. Some guys are simply after the one-night stand...

It's also shows like Sex and The City that make women think they're hotter and more attractive (in all areas) than they are.

You nailed it. This blows away physical appearance factors. It you have this you can have about any woman you want. It has worked for me.

I think it comes w experience, when you know the terrain you become confident

When you learn about women, how to speak to them and interact with them you become more confident and then build from there

Of course if you want to become confident then you have to go interact w women, its scarey at 1st but later ist becomes no big deal, thats when you are confident

Well if that is the case just get the book about how to have a great relationship and leave them on the coffee table BEFORE you go to the bar. When you bring the girl home, make sure she see them. :)

The irony is that (at least for me with no sisters), you really learn women only after being married for some time and dealing with your wife and her friends. But then you are off the market so all that knowledge goes to waste.

At least you can use it to some degree if you work with several women to be more "atttractive" at least in the business sense.

I normally don't post stuff like this online, but I figured this is a good place to post this----

I have more or less lost my best friend, due to things that I have said and done. She came to my saying I just want 'you' back, and that she doesn't know what's happened to me. I've changed a lot in the past couple of months, and most of it not for the good. At this point most of my really close friends aren't talking to me. At this point I just want my best friend back. What should I do?

    Thanks is advance,

    Austin

    I assume that you're serious.

If so, you need to say what's changed. Probably should do so in a new thread so it doesn't get lost in this thread.

AustinMartin The best thing to do is just fess up and be honest with every one on a one on one basis. Don't be afraid to tell them you screwed up and value them and need their help to get your self back on track. If they are your best friend or a true friend they will understand and help you.

It's about confidence and how you feel about yourself that matters. When feeling my best I'm "on my game" and people's reactions are positive, joyful, caring, helpful, happy, even hope and confidence can be inspired in them too. "Enthusiastic" I think would best describe the feeling in the air.

When I'm in my "I don't give a sheet" mood, no one, including me, wants my company.

Looks can probably give you that "first impression" advantage and may get you noticed more, but if you cant' back it up with anything, no sell..

A lot of women I talked to say they notice the little details of a man first. Like shoes, fingernails, hair, watch, ring..... They tell me you can always tell a man by the shoes and watch he wears.
