I purchased a brand new ZX-7 organ donor bike. I had no idea how to ride it. A friend told me what to do, and I rode the bike home. He followed me on the freeway. When we got home, he told me to avoid riding in the middle of the lane. A month later, I was going fast on the freeway with a bunch of similar sport bikes. All of the sudden a turn was coming up. They all leaned into the turn. I had no idea, but I did what they did !

Punched nitrous oxide in a GTO, while I was going around a curb - stupid move. I bent the A-arms.

When I was 17, with months and months of experience on a 70 cc moped..

My friend asked me if I could take his Yamaha FJ1100 home for him. I told him of course I can drive it.. I have experience on a bike..

Got on it, Drove on the highway 100+Mph...

WTF was I thinking 1100 cc...

I would not even get on a bike today..

My first bike was a Kawasaki KZ-650. I bought it in mid-February (in Boston) and told the seller not to worry, I knew how to ride (I knew how to drive a stick-shift, not a bike!).

I drove home, pulled into the garage without problems, happy as a clam.

Took it out for it's first real ride in April... was so excited I got up early to ride it. Went around the neighborhood a few times... pulled into the house... onto the grass... hit the brakes... slid all the way across the lawn with the grass slick from morning dew... and crashed into my house :D

Bought a faster quad after not having driven one in years. It was a modified yamaha banshee (350cc two stroke) with added powers, around 65 horses (not a lot but that thing was pretty quick). Was geared to 90mph. When I got it I had to fix a few things on it, as the damn thing proved unreliable.

Only drove it once during summer. Come winter I had finished fixing it and I wanted to test it out. Thing is, on the field next to my house the farmer had his sheep on, so I couldnt ride there. Our drive was being asphalted so I couldn't drive there either. So the next best thing is the roads. More bad news, I couldn't find my helmet and it had rained. I was so anxious to drive it though, I just jumped on it with my jeans and T-shirt on (didn't wear a jumper since I was fixing it minutes before). The tires where very worn...

Floored it as soon as there weren't any cars about, and I found that the rear end was quite eager to get ahead. Whoops. Tires were worn. Kept going though as it was such a rush. In no time I was hitting the limited in 6th and then I had to slow for the corner. I brake and my f-ing left front tire blows. Managed to park it at speed in a hedge though so I was fine.

moral of story, check your tires before driving in the rain (and wear a helmet..:D)

San Francisco, CA. I used to ride my stick shift Schwinn Stingray down all kinds of vertical hills slowing down only after hitting the dip & heading up. Did the same on 1st gen skateboards w/ roller skate wheels. 1960s.

Junior year of high school we threw a party during school....at school. It started out as a joke/dare/"just a few of us" thing and turned into mayhem. We smuggled booze into the school newspaper darkroom the days leading up to it. The idea was for some of us "in the know" to duck in and out during the day and knock down a few (I did photo work for yearbook and newspaper, and had 3 straight hours of no class!). By 11 it was loud and out of control, one girl went to class and barfed. Somehow I dodged the wrath, but it wasn't pretty for those caught in the net.

I used to skateboard down this HUMONGOUS hill next to my house. There was a cross junction right at the base of the hill. One night, after a friend at the bottom of the hill signaled that the road was clear, I started my usual exhilarating ride down the hill. Unfortunately, disaster struck as I reached the bottom of the hill at full speed. A taxi had suddenly appeared on the road perpendicular to the one I was on and my friend screamed "CAR!!!!!". However, I was going way too fast and I knew I'd probably break something if I decided to just bail, so I stepped hard on the tail and hoped that the friction would slow me down enough to avoid the taxi. The next thing I knew, I'd slammed HARD into the door of that cab as it drove by, and the driver never even stopped to take a look at what had hit his car!!! I think that had to be the closest I'd ever come to getting myself killed.

Still young, but haven't done too many REALLY stupid things.

Was riding down a very large hill near my house on my BMX bike in the rain and wiped out on a turn going probably 30 wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Massive road rash all down my left leg and arm.

Jumped off some sketchy plywood/cinderblock ramps on my bike/scooter-I never got hurt but some friends did.

Took a 25mph exit on the highway at ~70 in my first car (GTI) and almost didn't make the turn-was on the very edge of the pavement and into the little bit of gravel before the dropoff. Scared the sh*t out of me.

And of course there have been numerous stupid drinking/smoking/gf incidents, but those probably won't stop for another few years ;)

In college a buddy of mine and i used to go "hunting" for squirrel and other small animals after watching caddyshack too many times, with bb guns in our backyard. Mind you this was in large town in rural VA. We got bored with the backyard and ventured down some wooded side streets, i guess someone thought our guns looked real and called the cops. We were gettin written up for a felony offense when the officer noticed my buddies last name (he was local) and it ended up that my buddies dad was the officers daughters doctor and he just did surgery on her so we got off the hook.

Thats the dumbest one i can remember

9 years old, soaked my sneakers in gas, and lit them up so I would leave footprints in the street marking the baselines lines for a kickball game. Got to third base and made a beeline for the grass after my pants caught fire.

In high school, I would take 3 people in a little Honda civic and jump the flood dam in a parking lot (3 foot high burm) . Got great air – went over 20 feet, did this about a dozen different times, then tried it in my 67 firebird – the gas tank fell out on the landing. Dad was not too happy with me..

Got my dad a trip to the cop station after riding a dirt bike thru the neighborhood all day, when my dad got home I said ‘dad, you gotta try this out – I have been tuning it up all day’. He got on it, and a half hour later, he was pushing it up the street with a cop behind him. The neighbors called the cops on me, but guess who the cop caught riding it. I think he got every ticket imaginable. We still laugh about it today…..

Was hauling cars in a semi car transport that I bought, power steering blew out and I was lost in a small town. Trying to maneuver that beast was not easy as I was knocking over benches, small trees and flower pots. I got out of there fassssssssst as I could.

Same car transport, fuel pump seal blew out while in the middle of a car show in Carlisle unloading cars. My dad drove, while I was on the front bumper with the hood up and spraying ether down the air box. Dropped the can on the jerky ride and the radiator fan caught the can of ether and blew up my radiator – lost a lot of hair that day.

Got stuck on a ski lift at Keystone for 5 hours cause the bull wheel fell off – me and my buddy smoked 2 packs of cigarettes while waiting to get lowered down – and I don’t smoke!!.

I just remembered, while not really daring or dangerous it was stupid.

I was around 9 probably, maybe 10. The power had gone out and I was looking for a flashlight and opened up my dads drawer and found a Playboy, circa 1981 (the month and year I was born). Being a stuipd kid, I took it and hid it in my room and actually did read the articles.

My mom ended up finding it days later. lol

My friends and I had an on-going contest to see who could run a tool booth the fastest - the manual pay ("manned booth") that didn't have a drop down gate. Always after midnight and at the same toll booth (not smart), I finally was determined to break the record - and was clocked at a speed in the mid nineties (my speedometer said over a hundred) by the State Trooper waiting on just the other side. When I finally pulled over, he actually yanked me out of my car through the window. I received 5 moving violations, lost my license for almost 6 years and spend countless dollars (that I couldn't afford) with lawyers. I have never driven stupidly fast or dangerously on a public road since - in any kind of car. I keep it to the track now. While I have huge regrets about the whole incident - I'll never forget the feeling of running that booth at that speed - (my friends were impressed) ah to be 17 again...

That country club golf course was the coolest place to ride our dirt bikes. Great jumps, straight fairways for speed, and those bunkers were sooo cool! .

    GREAT security!! :D

(which prompted ALL of those high-speed runs! ;))

Holy ****, now that's flat out stupid man. You're beyond lucky to be alive.

I once got a golf cart wedged on a curb and the cart wasn't going anywhere, but the tire was touching just enough of the curb that pressing the gas led to a huge burn out. It was awesome.

In the summer of 1983 I banged my parents' cleaning woman for the entire summer vacation. I was 14. She was in her 30's. Parents almost caught us at least a half dozen times. This woman had humongous boobs, was foreign (from Lebanon or Egypt, can't remember which) and was really beautiful. If I recall correctly, she was either married or had a boyfriend, too. At night, my friends and I would go down to the Lake Michigan and get royally ****faced, go skinny dipping with rich chicks from Chicago on summer break. That was a GREAT freaking summer!

I knew a guy that would drive his civic on the Cart paths through out the course and neighborhood. Eventually the security guard chased after him on the cart paths in his little car with orange lights. Sadly I think the guard lost his job for that, my buddy just got yelled at by the cops and his parents.
