I am really ugly and unattractive. Just do what I did and become kinda-sorta well-known for a little while (or do something that puts you on stage). No problem with women. All set now!! Problem solved!!

Well, luckily for you the third thing women notice after watch and shoes is cabinetry skills.

I've heard medical licenses are handy in attracting women as well.

Sarcasm aside, you hit the nail on the head with that one.

There are a few words that make women swoon. "diamonds" is one, "doctor" is most certainly another.

Uro, I'm pretty sure that if you drop some subtle hints around attractive women in social settings, you will have great success. Here's one I use... pretend your cell phone is ringing in the checkout line of the supermarket. Say loudly "what's that you say, you need me in the ER? Life or death you say? Only a skilled DOCTOR like me can save him? Well, I'm in the checkout line @ the store, let me just throw this on my Amex Black card, jump into my Ferrari and I will be there STAT!"

(saying STAT lends credence to your being a doctor).

Just do it like I wrote above - real subtle like.

Be sure to accidentally drop a few business cards around as you make a dash for the door.

LOL... actually I was out with some cops the other night and when one approached some women another guy walked over with his phone and said, "It's for you, DOCTOR!" Was pretty funny.

Seems like a big waste of time. I always felt that wealthy, successful people didn't (in general) tend to dress a little more down. They don't have to impress anyone. Look at Mark Cuban or the millionaires/billionaires of the tech sector. Plus, you got all of those people who try to look rich ($30k millionaires).

It depends on what they do and where they are. Our next door neighbor who owned Hanes drove a beat up ford F150 and looked like a gas station attendant. Wealth people at a fund raiser for the fight against cancer dress well.

A friend and I were waiting at the Bellagio valet at lunchtime the other day for his car to be retrieved, and we were sitting next to this old, heavyset guy in sweats and old shoes who was totally mismatched, unshaven with a trucker-style hat and looked like the "Wal-Mart" shoppers that people here deride. Sure enough, a brand new Maser GranTurismo in bright yellow with huge black aftermarket rims rolls around and the valet gives it to him (looks surprisingly exotic in yellow). My friend was like, "WTF?!"

Bottom line: Wealthy people, in general, are secure with themselves and don't give a crap what others think?

I've gotten to the don't give a crap stage, and for the first time in 25+ years am letting my hair grow as long as Jerry's, maybe longer.

I'm also regarded as "the creative type" and tend to collect satisfactorily large checks for such work, when I get out of bed and make the effort. No one in my work milieu gets their thong in a knot about hair, beards, etc.

Dallas is ultraconservative, but it does have thriving wierdo sections. I live in one of them and love it, much to the disdain of weasels here like dmark1.

Tats....no. Too old, too conservative, early-on negative impressions of people with them too ingrained.

No offense intended to those with "body art"...it's kind of like extreme sports, fascinating and great fun to look at, but I'll be damned if I'll try it.

I can see it. I guess the better way to phrase is, "Don't judge a book by it's cover?".

retired architect, now specialize in development of design for interior and exterior architectural elements in classical and traditional styles.

In other words, I pick up where the big-concept guy leaves off, and stop when the production-drawing phase starts.

I always have 2 or 3 auto models going, tried a little writing, not much interested in painting/drawing anymore...too messy.

Especially in cities like LA, NYC, SF...lots of 'unconventional millionaires'

Im not rich but if I were I wouldnt dress or act any differently...Id be the guy with clay on his old sneakers getting into his unwashed 288GTO that everyone would think is a kit car.

    :D

Very cool. Do you build your models in 3d ? Computer or physical ?

I considered architecture in high school. I loved drafting plans but i didnt have a love for the design element. Then I drifted to film design where I fit in better.
