What he said, though not all Ferraris are unequivocal beauties. In the section on the new Ferrari California, there are a bunch of threads about how the car looks good in certain colors and not others. That's a tipoff that the design wasn't right to start. I've yet to see a 355 or 328 in "bad" color.
Add to that a large helping of corned-beef hash and you are on your way to the hospital for a triple bypass. Let them all run to the Camero, at least they can spit and key his car now, not your Ferrari. MB
It's funny you bring that up. I was wondering if the same crowd may have been leaning (or God forbid) sitting on my car while lusting after the Camaro.
This is the kind of thread I normally stay away from but......The new camaro has a lot going for it in terms of marketing and appeal, albeit not the typical Ferrari crowd but the Camaro has been all over the internet and newsstands and prominently displayed in a very popular and high grossing movie, the car has a lot of buzz right now. The 328 is one of the most beautiful cars ever built but.....these days .......there is an alarming number of folks who either don't know what it is or care. I don't think its fair to slap a mullet mentality to it.
I'm driving a black new Camaro today, day one of a two day rental. In the first 1/2 day, I've gotten more waves and thumbs up than almost anything I've driven. People love this car. They follow close, they come up and talk about Camaros at the gas station. Even had a cell phone shot taken on the road. The car has a nice presence. Will give full impressions after day 2 if anyone cares to hear it. First things though, it's very tight and quiet, visibility out is awful, (but that's cool, just makes it more like a Countach ) ant the base stripped cloth and plastic interior is terrible. Ergonomics and climate control are good, but they could make an entire subcompact car out of the plastic inside this one. It does not even smell like a new car. Need the leather options. Oh, and it is peppy! From what I've seen, it will upstage many cars for awhile until the new wears off. Then it will take the highly optioned versions with big power to turn heads.
+1000 This car is Fun Fun Fun. I just drove the winding park roads where the hold the Pittsburgh Grand Prix vintage races. This Camaro is a freaking blast. Everybody wants to get involved with the car. Hotel manager left his post to check it out. 6 cyl auto, but on the twisty roads, I put it in paddle shift manual and it holds the gears in corners and on hills REALLY waking up the sporty nature of the chassis and 300 ponies. I want to drive a manual trans and a V8 now, but its hard to imagine any new car could be better suited for winding roads than this little 6. Interior plastic is still awful btw. Did not mean to turn this upstaged thread into CamaroChat, but might as well get used to being upstaged, at least until there are 20 of them in every neighborhood. Cool pics to follow.
