Hello, my European brethren... In my never-ending quest to continue my Ferrari education, I am currently attempting to ascertain the chassis types of various Ferrari models. As you can see by the pictures below, I have some; but I'm still missing a lot. I call upon you European folks for help with this because USA-model Ferraris don't have the chassis type stamped on the data plate (if you look at all of the pictures below, all of the VINs are 'B' VINs). I'm not looking for chassis numbers to individual cars (though those are always welcome), rather I'm hoping you guys won't mind posting pictures of your data plates (as seen below), serial numbers blocked out if you want, so that I can see the chassis types. Here's the list we have so far, with big thanks to some of my European friends... 412: F101CL/AR 512 BBi: F102 BB 308 GTB: F106 AB 308 GTS: F106AS Testarossa: F110 AB F512 M: F110LB 456 GT: F116CL 348 tb: F119 AB 348 ts: F119 AS 348 Spider: F119AS5. 2 355 Spider: F129AD F50: F130BD 550 Maranello: F133AB M 550 Barchetta: F133ADM 599 GTB Fiorano: F141 ABE California: F149 BDEL Any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Carbon, Here's mine... Not the best pic, but you'll get the idea. 328 GTS: F106AS/PB http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/2241/51195733.jpg Alexander
Sweet...! You guys are awesome, thank you so much...! This is exactly what I'm trying to find. Thank you very much!
Small Effort for a guy with a big Ferrari heart (and a big horse on the chest ) like you. How are things going? Still crazy about "134282"?
Simon, this is very interesting. In the first post, there's a picture of a data plate for a 348 Spider and the chassis type is listed as F119AS5. 2 - do you know why there's a difference? I know that emissions requirements are different for different countries, but are there differing chassis requirements?
Three more chassis types! GTB Turbo, F106 AB/TR. 308 GTS QV, F106AS/Q. 360 Modena, F131AB E. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello everybody! I'm new around here, but not around Ferraris... LOL NNO - Check with who gave you the data plate of the F119AS5.2, from what I know that's from a 348 GTS (GTS stands for "Gran Turismo Spider", but that's not the 348 Spider, and that is probably the reason for this "misunderstanding"). I believe that: F119AB are 348 tb F119AS are 348 ts F119AB5.1 are 348 GTB and 348 GT Competizione F119AS5.2 are 348 GTS F119AS5.3 are 348 Spider Maybe some owners of 348's can confirme this.
I don' know what has happened to this thread but I am very keen to understand the codes on 355 data plates. I have a 355 98 RHD spider with Type F129AD E vin ZFFXR8c000112502. Can any one tell me the the meaning of all these and the other numbers. On the bottom right hand corner there is an etched number 174256 Has anyone got an idea of what this represents? Thanks
The first bit is in this thread then the VIN decode is all over the net and I'm not sure about the final number as I don't think its your assembly number
Dose anyone know if the Berlinetta has a different type number to the spider? Also on my UK 355 F1 spider the last letter (E) of the type number is etched on while the rest ( Type F129 AB) is printed on. What dose the E indicate? Again what dose the bottom left number (174256) mean? Thanks
This one is from my 348 GTB France delivered in the end of november 1993, this must be one of the first 348 GTB delivered ! If somebody know some GTB/GTS that are delivered/immatriculated before november 1993 please les us know. http://www.flickr.com/photos/54039376@N06/5460776363/
Thanks, Karabil, for all of the information. Is yours an F1 or a manual? It's very interesting to me to see the 'E' after the chassis type on your Spider; perhaps it corresponds to the original country/region for which it was built. Also very interesting, thank you! What is the serial number of your GTB? I ask because I have GTBs in my database that go back to late 1991, way before November, 1993.
Here is what I can add, I hope that will help abit too. '88 512 TR prototypes were modified Testarossas and had the chassis type F110 EB. However '91 production chassis type was F110 HB. DZ
E is for F1 gearbox ex. 360 Modena F 131 AB M, for the manual gearbox car, F 131 AB E for the version with the F1 gearshift assembly.
