So who said "You vill now stay in F1. Ve haff vays of makink you stay in F1." And to paraphrase Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along, and go racing?" no, of course not--so good thing there's a 0.4mi dirt track in my county, where people race because they want to and it's fun.
That's what EVERYONE said with Jean-Marie Balestre - how soon people forget. - It's not IRL/CART anymore, CART is long gone, they race IRL cars, not CART cars. - Wherever the team from Maranello goes is the series that will survive. - It may take a year to gain footing, but you CAN start up a new series and be successful.
The problem now is that the law suits are going to be flying regardless of the outcome. The new teams that have signed up will sue if they drop the current cap direction since expenses will be incurred to get sponsors, build cars, etc. The old teams will sue because they want to keep somewhat a status quo and have investments and Bernie may block them from going their own way.....Net, this one may take a few years to sort out.
No Court anywhere works at F1 speed (except North Korea) so as much as I love F1 they have just screwed themselves for a couple of years. Every race will look like Indianapolis a couple of years ago. Ouch. How sick is that thought? Except Ferrari won't be in it this time around.
