Read the ad closely. It has a "rebuilt" title. Not salvage. And what is your point? No Ferrari that's damaged is worth the time, money and effort to fix/restore?

Well, the buy it now option is gone, but the car has bid up to $30,000 with no reserve, meaning this bugger will sell....(assuming winner doesn't fall through)

If anyone wants, I will go look at it this Saturday morning... but this car is on my dream car list... with the exception that its a '96 (I really want a '95) GTS with black interior. I think its odd that there's not a single pic of the interior. If this guy sells cars on ebay, he knows interior pics are necessary to show a clean car.
I will warn this.... If I go see the car, and its not totally jacked up, and the dude will take a cash offer under $40K, I just might buy it myself!!

Either way, I will provide the nit-pickiest review of the cars condition that you could possibly ask for!!

Steve- There are shots of the interior- click on the one picture that changes/has the control buttons when you put your cursor over it and it takes you to a photo bucket-type thing. Regarding your offer of $40K, I'd think they would take under that given that this car had a "buy it now" option of $37K with the auction started. Offer $32K cash and move up to $35K cash if need be- there is no reserve where it was bidding at $30K, and he'll save ebay fees and chance of a deal fall through with a private sale vs ebay...
My fears on this car would be frame damage, other damage given poor gap fit, and extensive $$$ motor upgrades needed (the usual 355 stuff- bad headers, valve guides, etc- and I'd factor in a 15K mile service). For the money, I'd be all over this- at least for a look and PPI- if it were local to me, but realize in reailty you get what you pay for (i.e. the car needs some work and will always be a low price seller given history). That said, this is a driver- who cares about a stone chip or whatever when the car is at this price point- truely a car to drive and enjoy on the road and/or track assuming it checks out within reason!

Please let us know what you find when you look at the car tomorrow- I want a ride if you wind up getting it and I'm in Vegas :) Actually I just thought of something- the 355 and 360 are the cars I have been longing for for the past 7 years but ironically I have never driven/ridden in a 355 as relatively common as they are- I have driven a 348, Enzo(!) and 599 and been in 360, and 550...isn't that strange!

I agree, the bottom feeders will be out on this one. Will be interesting to watch.

The car has been sold. Someone from Kansas, is my understanding. Buyer owns 3 other Ferraris so yeah, must be a real bottom feeder ;-)

Did you buy it? I hope so. This was a tremendous deal. I called Steve Harris and found that all belts and even the valve guides were replaced last year. I emailed back , but the car was sold. You snooze, you loose. I lost big time.

I was going to look at it first thing tomorrow morning and get an inspection/evaluation done . I was not the buyer :-( Incidentally, the sale price was the "Buy it now" price. It was in an accident and did have a rather poor repair, however.....

I know this car, it had a bad engine fire totalled out. Wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole even though its cheap who knows what future problems will happen with this one. You get what you pay for especially with a Ferrari.

Certainly I believe that's possible. I've got the police accident report number (Salt Lake County, Utah) a copy of which can be obtained for $7.00. Unfortunately you have to appear in person to get it and I'm not in the area. Seller was told by previous owner that the accident occurred while backing out of the garage. I question police being called (accident report) for a "minor" accident on private property. Maybe it was needed for insurance payment?? Don't know...

That thing looked like a steal for a "keeper" and a driver car. Anyone get the price? No signs of fire at all, so I don't know about that post above... <.<

I might have been a player at one time and thanks to my 348/355 brothers I don't fear mechanical repairs as much as I used to. :D

There was no fire....what are you talking about. It was for sale in UT one year ago for 72K and perfect. It hit a concrete wall in UT and was totaled.

I agree, a great keeper and driver. I was told by the dealer that the belts and VALVE GUIDES were replaced last year. Again, hell of a deal.

This probably isn't the same car that was burned. Not many red GTS s 96 in this area I assumed it was it but the burned car had a tan interior. That said I can't believe they totalled a then $75k car out for $9500 plus in damage. Something doesn't add up a pig with lipstick here.
