Not sure but I think it's a fake...

The uprights on the rear wing appear to angle inboard too much... could be a perspective effect I suppose, but I vote fake...

additionally, the car has cavallino on rear grill... could be aftermarket... but...

    Other opinions?

    Ditto that.

Overall height of rear wing looks too high.
    Rear lights look too small.
Perspex engine cover too steep to roof line
Roof too high and too flat
Euro spec in the US (in poor condition)??.

The panel with the brake lights looks solid instead of being mesh like on a real F40.

Makes perfect sense to me. The inpound yard is where all fake F40's should be.

Agreed, but this could well be a genuine, fully-restored, different-in-every-dimension fake...thus making it worth at least $5 more than an everyday fake.

And he said it cost him $35,000 to do the fake car... Now ask yourself that question again... A fool and his money...

And the E-mail says: I HAD THE CAR SINCE 1987 AND IT WAS 46000 THEN, I NEVER CHANGED THE DASH TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND NEVER LOOKED FOR TROUBLE BY REPLACING TO V8 ENGINE. THE V6 IS ALL READY WAY TO FAST ANYWAY.
    I WILL TAKE 13500.

The sad thing is that someone put a great deal of work into this thing. The panels all look fairly straight. For the money he could have bought himself a good Mondial.

Some one should e-mail him that he's looking for a fake f40 to add to the stable... that they already have a fake f50 and a fake enzo. That they're also looking for a fake 288 to complete the full fake set of fakarri supercars...

tell him that if he can locate a good 288 GTO fake and make a package deal they'd be interested...

see what he comes up with...

and if he asks for pics of your fake f50 and enzo, send him pics of real cars! (tell him you made them yourself, but since you've started making a fake learjet, you don't have time for fake cars)
