really appreciate the info my suggestion running some Vbox times like 30 - 130 mph and 1/4 mile. the MPH on each 1/4 mile run will verify the power gains. drive safe. Mbn
Did mine yesterday, took 5 mins for the F430, easy access just lift the lid. I like the sound, I may rig up a switch / valve so I can turn it on at will in the cockpit.
60 to 130 (starting at 40 in 2nd and 3rd) is a much better test than 0-60' unless you plan to drag race your car. 60-130 is what you'll typically care about on the road and track. There's also tons of published data for 60 to 130 for other cars. You'll need to use a GPS meter on a flat surface for accurate results. Here's one from an Enzo with the lines disconnected: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think after 30mph we will see any improvement disconnecting the exhaust valves. The reason being that once disconnected they release extra power from 0-3200rpm. At 30mph in 1st gear the Scuderia is already above 5,000 rpm. The only benefit on this mod was the take off, because it's the only situation where we would be below 3,200 rpm. Once moving, we want to keep the car as high on the RPMs as possible at full gas, to extract the quickest acceleration. The testing I did proved that the car was too difficult to launch. I tested the car yesterday at two places, and launch is just right with the exhaust valves connected. With proper throttle modulation and valves disconnected, the car should be quicker off the line, but I just don't have the skill to modulate the throttle properly.
Apologies in advance... I searched, but cannot seem to find, photos detailing the location of both RH/LH side for a standard 360 Modena (not a Spider)...I know there are extreme close ups and the Ricambi diagrams, but for the life of me, I cannot seem to locate mine...anyone have a wider shot for orientation? Thank you!
You got this done by DMS in the UK right? May I ask what difference it made (to you) and what it cost?
To put it simply... I pull a lot longer in each gear. The torque at lower RPMs is also much greater. I would recommend the upgrade. DMS has dyno all the cars and have the data on file. It would cost 1700 pounds + VAT. My Scuderia was remapped in Singapore when DMS visited.
When are the good guys from DMS visiting again? I am considering to get my remapped as well. Who can I contact?
OK I will take note of your request. Next time he here I will let you know. Which car? 430? I will be meeting Rob of DMS in 2 weeks time in London and I will let him know to book u a slot. I have had all my cars done i.e. 355, Gransport, 430, Stradale, Scuderia, E55. U won't regret it.
Had my F430 F1 spyder, remaped by DMS. The results are astonishing! Love the increase in low-mid torque and huge improvement in the way the car drives. It feels as if there is another 300cc added to that V8. I have also added the BMC airfilters and hopefully in a month or so the capristo headers with their amazing heat sheilds which should wield another 20hp on top. All of a sudden open air motoring has a new meaning! Couldn't speak any higher about Rob and Martin from DMS. keep up the good work guys! Harry
Lung, you mad man. We should meet, you, me, arj and just be pure niusance along shenton way. Lol....symphony of Ferraris.
It sounds dreadful, unless you want a tractor, now if you are really smart you do the SCUD Air Intake Resonator Mod, with some Mk1 430 Intakes as per my post
Apologies for bringing this back from the dead, but I was helping a friend with this mod and I couldn't see any vacuum activating canister as per Post 30. I saw a hose that appears to have been cut on his Scuderia (see attached photo). His car is definitely louder than others I have heard, especially on cold start. Am I correct in concluding this car has already had this modification done by its previous owner? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a 01 360 spider, I can't seem to find the valves, there is nothing to unscrew underneath and I don't see a canister on either side , anyone have pics, I'll send pics of mine, thank u in advance
