Everytime I drive my 348 with 7800 rpm F1isk sound system I get erection, nothing compares... any other car sounds like my fridge.. except for Porsche of course!
My fridge is actually sounding like a Porsche, but that's because the compressor is going and it needs servicing.
I drive a 360 spider now, but my first Ferrari was a 348ts and I loved it. It had its issues and Ferrari purists looked at me askance, but it always made me smile when I drove it and is that not the point. You know what they say, you never forget your first.
That is bloody funny. Sorry ACE, didn't mean to leave you hanging on the POS comment, and I don't know that his car was, but everyone who owns a 348 that I know has a reliable car, so that is the first time I have heard of one "never running right" which tells me something. Draw your own conclusions. MB
yeah, 348's suck arse! Sheeah, right, and I'm married to Morgan Fairchild! I do believe that it is possible that there are a few examples out there that may have not been well cared for and may have more issues than normal, however, in the 5+ years I've had mine, I had one alternator issue, and recently the clutch bearing went out, replaced with a HE so that shouldn't happen again anytime soon. Oh, there was one cooling problem that was relatively self induced but it was rectified relatively easily. Oh, then the sticky interior issue (well, lets be honest, that isn't exactly a fault that only belongs to the 348, not is it?) which was easily rectified with Stickynomore. I have it on a tender, it starts every time I turn the key. On highway trips it actually gets really decent gas mileage (just an observation, not that I actually expect the thing to do it, once on a trip I thought maybe the fuel sender went kaputz as the gauge didn't go down as far as I had anticipated. Actually, I think that since the darned thing is largely unloved by so many kind of gives it that extra charm that makes me like it that much more. The 348 wasn't my first choice, I sort of felt like I was settling when I got it, but holy cow, that car puts a smile on my face every time I turn that key. Every time! Nothing warms my heart more than when either my 6 year old or 4 year old daughters say: "Daddy, can I ride with you, and can we take the Ferrari?" Does it get better than that? I say no. No matter which model you have, enjoy the crap out of it. Now go DRIVE!
MSN.......... 25 Over hyped vehicles And guess which ferarri is in it. http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/showpage/25-Over-hyped-vehicles.aspx?dub-gallery-photo-number=12 Image Unavailable, Please Login
To rephrase an earlier poster: At the end of the day its "JUST" a Ferrari. Let the drivers of other vehicles take that in for a bit.... PDG
Boring design? I'll never understand msn's attempt to do lists with cars, they fail miserably at it. Even when naming bad cars.
These lists are written by people who have probably never even been in a Ferrari, let alone owned one. All they are doing is using Google and then paraphrasing what they find -- the myths perpetuate themselves. Meanwhile, I think I'll go out to my garage and enjoy a spirited drive in my Pininfarina-designed work of art. - Eric
Yet I find them contradicting themselves on the other articles: http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/showpage/Totally-80s-Euro-Cars.aspx?dub-gallery-photo-number=9 It seems like they liked the biturbo. So which is which? Ace
There are good 348s, and there are bad ones.....note that most of the 'bad' ones are 1989 models. The 1989 models WERE bad cars.
Actually, they like the Mondial on that list. (That giant sucking sound is Mondial owners flocking to the 348 section to start posting...)
Yep, that sure is confusing especially since I drove both and found the convertible to be utterly lacking in drivability due to its incredible body flex. My BiTurbo E (intercooled) coupe was quite a performer at the time with its 204 Hp - when it was on the road, that is. Imagine that a 1985 Ferrari 308 QV was posting 240 Hp but with less torque. Also the BT has a 4.10 rear axle ratio which made it scoot to 60 mph. It was a quick piece of junk, yessiree...
I started with a 1982 308. IMO, that car was a pile. As for the 348s, I had two of them, and both were rock solid. At car shows with other Ferraris, my 348s always got the most attention. These writers are morons.
I read all the articles he made some good points my rebuttal to his review F#CK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU DIDN'T RIDE IN ON. What a Jack ass, first you love then you hate reminds me of JC from Top Gear he did the exact same thing
