so back in january i found a guy who was selling a 2002 ducati 620 monster "dark" /"matte black" for $2000. It had a small oil leak from the oil filter..and had a cracked turn signal lens...As i thought about buying it, i told a co-worker about it and he wanted to buy it. I held out from telling him where it was. I talked to the guy selling it 2 weeks ago and he still had it and had dropped it to $1200! I told my co-worker and he begged for the bike. So i told the owner..he was happy i found a buyer, but he was firm at $1200 as he should be. I told my co-worker he was firm at $1200 and from the very beginning was very honest about the condition of the bike...no suprises. So the buyer was ok with the condition of the bike and the price....So today we went to go look at the bike and upon looking at it he was not suprised with the condition of the bike. He asked the owner what was the lowest he would go.. and the owner said $1200. My co-worker offered $800! and walked away....I was instantly pissed.

    thats about it....

I just find that really shady of him...why would he offer $800 when he said he would have bought it at $2000? He should have been honest with me that he was going to offer less than the $1200 he was firm on...which he already knew..The owner and i would not have waisted our time with him!

I think it made me look really stupid to the owner of the bike...and i told him i was sorry for all of this...

Now after all that ...im buying the damn bike for $1000....i'll post some pics soon

You must be young: there is plenty people like these waiting for you in life.
In fact, there is plenty worse, so fasten your seat belt and take it in stride.

Question, if your "friend" had not offered $800, would you have been able to get the $200 off of the previoulsy firm $1200? You saved $200, likely will never see the bike's seller again, I think there is a silver lining to your story, be greatful.
