When I got the 550 in Grigio Ingrid people said it was rare and I would probably never see another. I did a 2 day at Laguna Seca last week, there was a Ingrid 575 in the pits, yesterday I did a 1 day at Thunderhill and the only 550 there was.......Grigio Ingrid. Now I'm thinking they're a dime a dozen I was driving the BT29, and after a couple of sessions in it I took the 355 out, it felt like a 50's Cadillac, absolute pig of a car by comparison.
The 355 felt all wallowy and about to tip over compared to the BT29, the difference between a good street car and a proper race car is astonishing. I'm loving the 550, although I didn't take to Thunderhill, The race cars went up in a trailer and I drove the 355 up there. Pulling the 550 into my shop I hit the curb with the front bumper, its really bad, broke it up into the left vent nostral. I'm really bummed about it, don't know where to get it fixed, but the bumper has to come off and that looks major. Anyone done this yet, any tips would be appreciated Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave- After repair, make sure they do a good job tightening the front side marker lights. A pain to tighten after the bumper is reinstalled. If your air conditioner filter/dryer needs changing, now is a great time. Same for your alarm siren. Taz Terry Phillips
Hi, I have had this problem with a 348 a couple of years ago, front bumber was cracked on a speed bump. I took it to my neighbour who is a boat builder and he fixed it with polyester. as he normally does with a boat hull when this is damaged. he put in an aluminium rod to strengthen the bottom part very good and solid solution, not that expensive only needs a repaint and you're done again. good luck

Not a dime a dozen... The other 550 that was there might have been mine since the last owner I know of lives in NorCal. When I ordered it in 2000, it was the first ordered in NA. Any pics?
Sorry, no pics, but he said he ordered it new from Fof SF. 2000, Ingrid/tan, carbon interior except for doors, might have had daytona seats, can't remember, carpet shelf, no shields.
Holy sh*t that means there are three?????? Different car... Mine was GI/Cuoio with FHP, seats, shelf, handy extinguisher and modulars (which some dealer in TX helped himself to).
There are, I think, at least 3 Ingrid 456s for sale and I also know of 2 Ingrid 360s currently on the market. Although the color regularly gets dissed in fchat, the factory is apparently responding to a demand. More common than azzuro california.
When I first saw the color, on a 355 in a showroom with lighting, it looked phosphorous. Out in the sunlight on the more flowing lines of the 550 it was truly elegant but not bad ass like the black one. More than once the comment I got was, "This is the most beautiful car I have ever seen".
I get that all the time, it truly is a great color for the 550, besides I was in love with Ingrid Bergman when I was younger. From Wiki "As a curiosity, the colour that was chosen for this amazing masterpiece was unique and not available for the other Ferrari models. It was the intention of Roberto Rossellini to utilize a colour that could be compared to that of Ingrid Bergman's eyes. This colour is now available for all production Ferraris under the name "Grigio Ingrid."
Funny..the only 2 Ferrari's I have driven thus far were both Grigio Ingrid. An 01 550 and 02 360 Coupe, same owner. The color is not one you would think of when you think Ferrari but its gorgeous in person.
Can't be many of you on this planet! It's a gorgeous colour for the 550 but I have not seen it in person myself yet. Onno
I have 9 US cars listed in the database, (More Worldwide of course), and a further 18 early US 575's in the same colour... Argento
