Car models are plain old plastic 1/24th, I like building vintage Ferraris, what else? They're always in progress, never finished.

I have a state of the art 3D onscreen-modeling program, tailored to architectural use, a skillful user could 3D model anything with it.

Never have worked with the 3D model "printers", that actually build programmed-in objects to scale. When Dell starts offering $999 online-special deals, I'll get one ;)

Architecture was always a love-hate thing with me; was happy when I could quit full practice and reinvent myself as a specialist.

If you are built like Henry Rollins, then glasses make you more vulnurable... so it helps.

The rest of us get seriously hurt by glasses. When I go out with my contacts in, the way I get treated is literally night and day! Too bad they sting my eyes or I'd wear them 24/7.

I wear glasses and contacts. The above is true but I don't think women hate guys with glasses, at least that hasn't been my experience.

I've worn glasses since the second grade, tried contacts once in highschool and once about 10 yrs later, each time wore them 2 wks., then never again.

Wearing glasses was never an impediment to my love life before I got engaged and married in '79.

My wife has never let me get contacts, thinks glasses are part of persona, sexy, etc.

    LOL.

I dated this crazy girl for about 10 months. The entire time we dated she had contacts but I never knew it. She didn't take them out. I heard she had to have surgery done in order to have them removed. Yikes.

I think she didn't want anyone to know she had them in. She even fooled a friend of hers for years.

I knew I was in deep when her sister said to be careful of her, that she was trouble.

No, I think maybe the women you seek after are barbie dolls looking for kens. You might want to re-evaluate your own tastes.

I HATE wearing contacts because they make my eyes shrivel and dry up, but I get treated very differently when I wear contacts as well! Most girls suddenly think I look much better without my glasses. Ultimately, I don't think it really matters though. If you want a girl to like you, she should like you for who you really are and you shouldn't have to dress up for her unless it's a special occasion.

Haven't read the whole topic but physical appaerance (as in making yourself looking prettier, better whatever, especially in the eyes of the opposite sex) is pure BS. For men I mean. All you have to be is nice, interesting and to some extent, curious. At least it's the experience i have from that side.

You are correct. I recently attempted to lower my standards and date a woman who is larger than me... but I just cannot get excited about her. Something about the Barbies that inspires me to go the extra mile. If she isn't near-10, then I just don't feel "into it".

So if you are a 10 and she is an 9 who will go the extra mile ;) The only thing better than going out to a restaurant with a 10 is having an 9 make you dinner while you watch auto racing. :)

I have dated a number of 10's, Well known entertainers and models that have been in Vouge ect. I have found that the 10's I have dated have not been so hot in bed. The 8's and 9's gave better performance over all. It is all in the attitude and most 10's have got a lot of problems with body image and the like.

In opposition, I have heard of employers choosing NOT to hire attractive women because it is a distraction to the male employees. In fact, I've actually had a boss tell me that herself!!
I actually like guys with glasses. :)

I think that's the operative word there. The statement is also grounds for a lawsuit. Specifically choosing not to hire someone because of how they look, pretty, ugly, light skin, dark skin, curly hair, straight hair, brown eyes, blue eyes, black, white is all the same. You know having a scary black person in the office might keep some people from doing good work.

I have not hired chicks because they are too attractive and would be a distraction. Felt bad about it.

    Brilliant lol.

I lived in england for 3 years and during the entire time, I had 1 girlfriend, which was for 3 weeks (and two of which she was on holiday, :D).

There were so many fugly women in the UK (I wont stereo type though, as there are some utterly jaw dropping gorgeous women out there) I normally felt fine with just the right hands or the occasional one night stand (win win). The girlfriend I had was fairly ok, most people would look twice but she always wanted to hold hands. No biggie normally but it is when her hands are f'ing sweaty, even when its like 5c outside!

Now I live in spain though...So many hot women but I don't speak their lingo. Luckily its summer season from next week on. Plane loads of hot, single chicks every week in the clubs:D.

    cool thread, very interesting replies.

to answer: i have no idea, i do what i do, and supposed i will meet someone eventually. i date off and on, but have not been in a "relationship" for over 10 years. i am 37 and getting tired of being "single" all the time, as it would be nice to have someone to laugh with and live life.

pics of me, since others have shared theirs.
