Somewhere, sometime, somebody on this forum posted info on improving a 308 GT4 A/C system.

There was a modification relocating the sensor on the end of the capillary tube that comes from the a/c temp control.

This was done to improve the functioning, and although I don't understand why. I have already added a even cylinder Sanden compressor, and switched to 134, but I need more coldness.

    Please help, thanks.

My 308GTB has the same issues. The evaporator is just not adequate for the job at hand. My Mondial QV can just keep up but it too is no outstanding performer when it comes to air movement.

I'm thinking about removing the evaporator from my 308GTB and storing it away safely THEN replacing it with an under-dash aftermarket unit with a wind-tunnel blower. That would make the car usable.

Please post where you got the brackets to switch to the Japanese compressor. Both of my cars still have the old Yorks.

I made the brackets. It was actually pretty elaborate, as I converted the Sanden to rotate opposite direction and the smaller belt.

I have a lot of condensers from my Mangusta A/C upgrade, I will see what fits.

Jay a few things,I modified my GT4 A/C but it was for a series 1.What series is yours?I relocated the thermostat sensor to the return air rather than the supply.I also redirected the air supply as the original air vents through the 3 dash vents but dont give enough flow.I also converted to a Sanden compresor after my York died on me although the bracket is available.I also upgraded the condenser fans as well with more powerful 5 blade fans.I think another problem you is that you have R134a in th system.I couldnt get temps of lower than 8degC ut when I put the R12back in I got temps of around 1-2degC
Here is a brief description on what worked for me,although since that post I have changed the cond fans as well as compressor and R12
