I fix repairable cars for a hobby and I saw this yesterday. I'm not planning on bidding but I'm curious to know if anyone knows the history of it or the cost of parts to fix it. Here's a link:

The damage doesn't look that serious to me but the rest of car looks like it might be beat. Plus who knows where it was stored and if the top was down while outside.

I'm thinking that by the time you have the car repaired you will have way more money into it that it is worth.

Why pay $17k, plus $40-50k in repairs, for what is essentially a $50-60k car?? Just buy the best car you can afford and avoid the stress.

That's why I'm not interested in buying it for myself. Too many unknowns.

Yeah, the bodyline is out of whack. Take a close look at the second picture, look at the horizontal body line along the driver's side door where it closes. It's a bit lower than the continuation past the jam on the rear panel. (i.e. the body line does not match up between the door and rear panel.) If it's this noticeable in the picture just think how bad the damage really is!

That door would shut straight once the front frame is pulled.

5 days left and $17k. What's it going to end up at?

How much is a motor worth on these, provided it's good and the compression is up to spec? Transaxle? Just those two have to be worth 8-10k. Looks like a person could make out pretty good just on the big parts.
