I agree about showing lineage in design and it appears that that's what they're trying to achieve with the structurally-intigrated cooling pit. I don't perceive it as a 90's thing, I see it as a Ferrari trait traced to the classics you mentioned (288, f40) and all the way back to the 308. I think Mr. Okuyama unexpectedly added to this lineage with the Enzo. The Enzo didn't look anything like the 288, f40, f50 or any Ferrari before, yet you can see traces of it in the F430 and the 599 and it looks like we'll see it in this car as well. The extent of which is yet to be seen. It is interesting to watch the shape of the cars change as the company culture of Ferrari and Pinninfarina change. It appears maybe after some of these personalities have moved on with their careers they're going back more traditional Italian styling and less avant-garde. I hope this car is great.
I guess we really do just have to sit back and relax about this... After all, Czechferrari.cz have their latest group of spy pics labeled 8/8... _J
+1 Please no more silly photoshops from everyone from magazines that are so outdated, obviously the car is finished, the group of Czechferrari spy pics are of a real crash test vehicle and the black vehicle being loaded on the truck is obviously the actual car, virtually everything else we have seen here lately is just bad & outdated guesswork
There's been quite a lot of leaks lately about last minute redesigns. Apparently, they're back doing very late aero testing after some problems and/or changes that have performance implications. Luca D-Mont signed off on something and Pinninfarina has put resources back to doing some redesign of some sort. I'd bet it isn't significant since crash testing and certification is done so possibly just fascias?
Don't they do it quite often? Remember the first spy pic of the F430? The front bumper was totally different to the final result, so they did a redesign here as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the car has a lot of potential. But I'm worried they will mess up the details. I hope it does not have large ugly front air intakes, like the f430. I hate that black car chop, the front looks really blocky and ugly. Not sure about the swooping lne on the side (starting from the front wheel arch), Looks a bit random. I feel sorry for ferrari. Lamborghini build way more striking cars!
That's true, but I don't think it was ever established how far along that 430 spyshot was. Regardless, there seems to be some buzz about "delay" for further development with this car. It's certainly not sharing wind tunnel time with their F1 car anymore (!) so I've got to think it'll have absolutely perfect aero balance when it does arrive.
Looks like what T2-G did to the 430... *picture wont upload, so here's the link* http://allcarsreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/24000.jpg _J
That was my first impression as well.... After seeing the California in person and now these images, what I see are echos of the rear fender-to-door swoop from the Testarossa.
I hope this isn't a repost! http://www.worldcarfans.com/109062420099/ferrari-f450-mule-caught-undisguised-and-immobilized
Check the Ferrari Discussion Forum... It's been hashed and rehashed. But good for you for finding it online... It's always exciting to see that kind of stuff.
i really like the sharp angle created by the roof and back of the side window. still seems like a further refinement of the 360/430 though. not as drastic a change as was the 355 to 360 models.
Looks like someone threw a Cali and a 599 together, perhaps stretched it a little. Not a bad thing though.
yeap... it is looking like a fusion between 360/430, cali and 599...doesnt look like a very creative design YET.
