I've decided to go for the partial HGTE upgrade. Don't like the interior and not bothered either way regarding the grill and prancing horse changes, so this is what I'm having.

KIT ASSETO HGTE - CODICE 70001490 - Wheels, Tyres, Suspension, ECU & other parts

    KIT PRESTAZIONALE HGTE DOPO IL 2008 - CODICE 70001492 - 2 x Exhaust Silencers & ECU Upgrade

Why does it say "dopo il 2008" ("after 2008" in Italian)?

Can that upgrade only be fitted on cars built after 2008??

Hi Maximus Brutus, do you know, how much the partial hardware costs and what F charges for the labour? I was told, that there has to be done a lot of disassembling to the car. In the german car magazin " Auto Motor & Sport" there was an article app. 6 weeks ago about the 599 HGTE, where they wrote, that F also changed some Hardware-components in the engine. Will/can these changes also be applied to the the existing car? My dealer could not give me an exact answer to that question.

    Regards--e

I am not at home right now and the full details of the HGTE upgrade options are there. I will answer any questions I can on Saturday.

Essentially there are 3 parts to this upgrade though.

    Wheels/Tyres/Suspension
    Exhaust
    Grill/Badges

I have a full breakdown of each including labour charges.

Just had a look and I see what you mean. The seats look amazing but I wonder if you could order that without the "HandlingGTE" stitching?

Does anyone know if the exhaust HGTE exhaust improves the sound significantly? Anyone has first hand experience with the HGTE exhaust? Thanks.

I own a 599 and put the capristo exhaust system that was a thread on here and does it ever make a difference. I am so impressed with it. It added several horses and the sound is great.

What did you install? Just the rear mufflers? Or more?

I just got the confirmation that they can delete it. I don't want to look at that every time I step into my car. After what Im spending on this beast I think I know what I bought without a reminder in fine Italian stitching on my seats!! : )

I am guessing that any aftermarket exhaust will sound better (louder and more aggressive) than the exhaust in the HGTE package. The problem is that the dealer keep saying that putting an aftermarket exhaust is not covered by warranty and they advise against it. And since the car has had 2 check engine lights initially, I am hesitate to go to aftermarket route. Has anyone encountered this problem? Thanks.

Baron- Ferrari has indeed said after market exhausts void the warranty. In general, the HGTC exhausts on the 575M/Superamerica and 612 have been an excellent compromise between loudness and great exhaut note. I have a Superamerica HGTC exhaust on my 575M and love the sound. I have read the same thing about the 612 HGTC exhaust. I would imagine the 599 HGTE will be similar, although I have not heard one personally.
