Just finished hardwiring my V1 in my 348. I have the remote unit and the optimal place to position it is on top of the steering column cover, but the unit will completely obstruct the CEL lights. Looking for suggestions, pics, advice, etc... on placement for the remote unit so that it is still easily visible without or minimally obstructing critical dash displays.

The best place for the Valentine 1 is a high-mounted position. This will optimize rear detection as well as give you long-range front detection. I had my V1 mounted exactly to the right of the rearview mirror high on the windshield. Take care to not mount at the tint on the upper part of the glass.

I have two 355s, which both have the same windshield and interior setups as the 348, and in both of them I have the V1 hardwired and mounted in that position. There, it's out of the way of the drive but still clearly visible to the driver. For power, use the map light at the rear of the cockpit (near the rear glass) -- and in the case of the Spider, use either the fusebox in the passenger footwell or the map light near the rearview mirror. In the case of a 348 tb/ts, you will be able to simply hide the wire between the foam ceiling and the side pillar without removing any panels -- you'll be able to insert the wire into the gaps with your fingers.

My Val is just clipped to the visor, add a rolled cloth to drop the visor to a level that works and run the power wire around the mirror and down to the lighter. I have too mny cars and only 1 Val. :)

That's where mine is, right in front of the number plate, been there for 7 years, not a problem. I can see the light on start up, and if I move around at all its visible.
