I collect phantom comics and phantom gear, I have around 550 or so comics, been collecting for 13 or 14 years
When I have some spare money it's either cd's and vinyls with Springsteen and a comic book series. (Blueberry).
Superposed as in Brownings or as in over/unders? Watches, modern first editions (a loser's game,) some shotguns, coffee table books, mostly interior and photography related, photographs, memories of what could have been, the scorn of every woman I've met, etc. I've tried to keep my collections neither deep nor broad but was not successful with the books. Want to collect: LPs. 50 good LPs from each year, 1960 till now would not be all that expensive.
I don't know if I "collect" anything...there's things I've always liked for no reason other than I like them... Signs...old ones mainly, but signs...it really doesnt' matter what they say, there's just something about them. They're like compasses in this world we live in and they direct people...people need signs...I like them. Maps...I dont' like throwing any map away. I can just sit and study most maps (or globe). Even maps of other planets. Any map. Guns....wouldn't call me a collector, but, once I have a gun, it's one of the things I keep. Cars...if I were rich, I'd have a car collection, no doubt. Tables and furniture...things you truly love don't come along all that often. So, when they do, I like holding on to them. No "style" furniture in particular, just different stuff down thru the years. No real pattern. Small watch collection. Nothing expensive, exotic or rare. Mostly stuff that means nothing to anyone but me.
My dad's slowly become a gun collector over the past decade or so. At the current time he's a big collector of bullets though.
Some stuff I used to collect, but stopped were; -Car magazines -Car brochures -F1 race videos -Hockey trading cards ( have a Gretzky rookie card!) -Comic books Stuff I currently collect; -MMA fight videos -Music -Moto GP season review DVDs Some stuff I'd love to get my hands on, but are too expensive are; -Ayrton Senna's helmet -Valentino Rossi's helmet -Ken Dryden's face mask -Dan Marino's helmet
VINTAGE GUITARS! Mostly 50's and 60's examples of Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, Rickenbacker, Martin, Bigsby (yes I have a Bigsby Guitar) VINTAGE AMPS!!! Fenders, Ampeg, Gibson, White, etc.
I had/have a bunch of synthesizers as well...much of it is in storage or packed away in closets around the house... Older: Jupiter 8 Jupiter 6 Juno 60 Alpha Juno 1 MC202 (sold) JX8P (sold) JX3P (friend borrowed and never gave back) Yamaha DX-7 TR-909 (sold - never should have sold this!!!) Korg MS-20 (sold) Newer Waldorf Q (sold) Access Virus b Nord Lead II (sold) Korg Triton (sold) JP8000 (broken, spilled coffee in it one time...need to replace a circuit board) JV-1080 Jomox xBase 09 Korg Electribe ER-1 MC-505 MAM VF-11 Vocoder Korg Prophecy (sold) Novation Supernova (sold) Novation Nova Novation Drumstation Filter Factory vocoder Most of this stuff is nicely modeled in software these days, so I no longer needed to keep everything hooked up. A lot of stuff I sold when I hit some hard times back in 2004. I wish I had never sold my TR-909, my Jupiter 6 and my MC-202. They were all mint and perfect. I managed to keep the Jupiter 8, it is a gorgeous sounding synth. It was nice to be able to justify the purchase of this stuff...my job was to compose and create electronic music, so it was an "expense". RMX
