Any thoughts? do you guys think this is a good move? I mostly drive the car in the weekends or during the week when we go out for dinner, other than the lambo's flashiness what we be some drawbacks?
    Thanks

F430 is much more comfortable, easierto drive, get in an out of, parking, and much more of a daily driver. However the Murci is a beast and a blast to drive. Make sure you drive the LP first to make sure you could live with her. I have a Murci and love it but also a F430 and if running errands or mutliple stops the Ferrari always gets the nod

As mentioned: the SIZE difference. You will feel the size difference just about every time you take the car out. And that might get old. Fast.

The LP640 is 10x the drama of the F430 in all the good and the bad ways. It turns like a truck, it rips like a bull. It's much more visceral, brutal, and temperamental. It's definitely not a great car for running errands, but it's a much more exciting supercar. Just make sure that you can handle the exposure. A F430 will get a thumbs up, an LP640 frequently stops traffic.

I just picked one up in green and it's an amazing experience to own. Highly recommended.

A Verde Ithaca LP640 and Balloon White LP560-4, you my friend, are living the dream! :) I adore the LP640 in Verde Ithaca. Does yours have ball-polished Hermera's? Good lord. Amazing cars!

I'm looking for a roadster and I'm open for all colors other than red and blue. I'm planning on getting it until the f450 spider comes out. I know everyone over here is loyal to ferrari but you can't deny the fact that the lp640 is a supercar. I travel a lot and don't have a lot of time to drive my cars so it is definitely not going to be a daily driver, I hate that every time I tell my friends I want to buy an LP640 all they come up with is that it's too flashy.

Chris, you got to see the LP640 roadster I saw the other day here in Valencia, Verde Ithaca, black Hermeras, full carbon interior, and Verde Ithaca calipers. It was sick!

No blue? Monterey Blue is maybe the best color out there for the LP640! There are so many great colors for it though. Verde Ithaca, Arancio Borealis, Balloon White, you really cant go wrong. The flashiness is an overstatement. A Chevrolet Monte Carlo with Lamborghini doors and 28" rims is flashy(gaudy too!). A Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 is a show-stopper. And thats just how the car is. Like mentioned above, a Ferrari F430 will get the thumbs-up and nod. An LP640 will literally put traffic at a stand-still. If your not looking to be seen or noticed, then the LP640 isnt for you(or maybe a nice Grigio Telesto or Black would be low-key ;)). In all honesty its an amazing car. And if you couldnt tell, I would be all for one.

I'd say test drive LP. I'd say you will either love it or hate it...Also I'd go for a coupe over the roadster. Imagine getting caught in a storm with the top off...Mostly here in South Florida, it comes out of no where...

Definitely test drive the LP, its a very different car and a much more compromised driver than your 430. You can feel the weight of it, its harder to see out of, the brakes are grabby (if they're of the carbon variety) and the steering feel is heavier than a 430.

Also make sure you take a look at how the roof works if you're looking at a roadster and don't live in socal, arizona, etc. The story goes that the car was designed roofless and the marketing guys decided it needed a roof after the engineers were done. Putting it on is a 15-20 min / two person affair if you don't want to scratch the paint.

Despite all this, I'd be tempted to do the same trade...its still a phenomenal beast

I consider myself very lucky to be living in Socal (orange county) so I'll always keep the top down anyway.

    totally different cars and feel.

driving one will make you deiced.

for me i wont compare the two cars since they are as i said totally different.

each car comes with its own package and uniqueness and driving experience.

    good luck.

    Wow...2 different animals...

just another perspective.....in 08 you paid probably 250k for your car, and being in California thats about 8% sales tax..so about $20,000.00

now California does not allow roll overs..so the new LP which im sure will have a value of close to 240k...now sales tax as of today in LA county is 9 3/4% so thats another $23,000.00

so taking out any depreciation that has occured on your 430 and the depreciation of whats to come on the LP...You are $43,000.00 in the hole before factoring in ANY depreciation!!

that may be chump change too you (def. not to me!!) but in any case... Good luck on whatever you decide!!

Funny how this state is so F'd up!! and cant balance a budget!! AMAZING

One good thing about Lamborghinis is they can be serviced at many Audi dealerships. Even here in the hinterlands in NM, the local Audi dealership has a qualified and excellent Lamborghini technician.
