    My '06 612 has another month of warranty coverage. I got her last week, and in one of the front headlights is a very thin metal shaving. It's in the sealed part, and had to be there from the beginning. I spoke to the salesman from the dealership who sold it to me, and he was aware of it, but it had never been addressed.

    I realize this shaving doesn't affect the performance of the headlight but was wondering if it could be fixed under warranty as a manufacturing defect.

    I can't produce pictures for another week or so as I am out of town, and haven't asked my local dealer yet.

    I would get it in there ASAP, you have nothing to lose by taking it in and having them look at it to see if it is under warranty.

    worth a shot, but since it is purely cosmetic they might balk at it (esp. if its an expensive fix).

    increase your odds by telling the sales manager or service manager how much you like the new California and might want to trade up in a year :)

    My Black & Black with Gray piping 06 had the exact same thing on the passenger side light. I only noticed it just before trading it on a 599 so I did not press to get it replaced. If I had kept the car I would have. I think they would have, but were not eager to offer to replace it.

    Get your 612 in to the dealership before that warranty expires for the new headlight housing. You can thank us later. :)
