The Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet is PERFECT.

Ok, maybe not the last time...maybe I will devote another 10,000 threads to my love for the mondial, but I just need to share my joy with people who can appreciate it. Today, my little girl was with her grandparents so I took the wife out for a nice afternoon. I ran down to the garage and fired up the Ferrari. We took her to a fun little restaurant in town and when we got back to the car there was a a man with his son admiring her from a distance. Of course, I asked if they would like to see her up close and I let the little boy start her up sit in the seats, look at the engine etc, as I answered all of his dad's questions. Meanwhile, my wife who still doesn't really understand what all the fuss is about Ferraris, just looked on and smiled. As we got in to pull away the father and son where still standing there. As I waved goodbye, the father said, we are just going to sit out here and listen to you the engine as you drive off. I shook his hand and invited him out to a local C& C with his son. Time spent in car so far---10 minutes. Friends made, 2, and a little boys day. Next, I took a nice slow country drive showing my beautiful wife all the neat houses and farms I have come across on my weekend drives. The weather is perfect, the car is comfortable for her, and the Ferrari acclimates herself perfectly to this leisurely task. About 30 minutes later, we get home and I drop the wife off. Approximate time on road--40 minutes...long missed time alone with my bride in the beautiful country air...priceless. Next I jump back in the car and take her for a brisk ride up through some great sweepers and country roads...engine winding up like an F1 car, car hunkering down for every corner and the incredible tactile sensations through the wheel. Twenty minutes later I am home, smiling as always from ear to ear. I put her in the garage, cleaned her off, and shut the door...its now 10 hours later and I am still thinking about it.

    Viva Mondial.

I do miss the drive with the family. With only two seats, I drive mostly alone or with one other family member. If they only make the Mondial a little ... (you know the word)...

Well, if he had an F40 he would have arrived much sooner, and the wife of the other guy would be stalking him.

You said it Joe. The t is also Perfect if you like power steering. I have been too busy to drive it lately but I did back it out of the garage yesterday. Best 30 seconds all day.

Joe, yup, agreed, wonderful car. I have both a mondial 3.2 cab and a 308 and while I like the 308s lines (which are more dramatic) the mondi has such nice subtle lines.

Having back seats is fun too - putting the wife and kiddos in the car and going to the local Italian restaurant with the top down on a warm summer eve is a lot of fun. I've never left my mondi with a valet and not had them leave the car in front right where I stepped out. The engine is great too, makes enough hp to be interesting but not so much as to be overwhelming. I also love the highway handling - that long wheelbase makes for a very stable and capable high speed touring car. I could easily see doing 100-120mph all day long in the mondial in France or Germany.

Hang onto that 3.2 cab, it'll be worth a bunch of money one day!

An F40's only option would be to run in fear from a wave of powerful Mondials carrying four passangers each to lay down the law to others.

My wife & I went out in the Mondial t coupe with friends to dinner tonight. It was about 80 degrees and pretty out. We parked alone out in the distance away from the restaurant backed into a spot. I admired the coupe shape as we walked away. I thought about the car a few times while enjoying group conversation. Even after all of these years I could not wait to get back to this little car. Night had fallen by the time we walked back out to it. The temperature had dropped to 70 ish, not the slightest breeze. I spot the car just sitting under a lamp backed by a bank of trees. A new pretty Jaguar coupe parked a space away knowing it was a safe bet not to get a ding next to me. The darkness of the night played well on the Jaguar & the deep red Prugna Ferrari lines. It felt good to approach it with keys in hand.

I let my wife in the passenger side then slid myself into the driver seat. The Tubi politely roared to life when I twisted the key as I rolled both windows down. I turned on the driving lights and pulled away slowly - smile on my face. I pick a back way home out in the distance on lightly traveled roads. I short shift the engine listening to the intake noise admitting from the side strakes and point that sound out to my wife. She says "that sounds really good" as I row up from 1st to 5th slowly. We manage to run easily through the gears a few times on our route home, saying little, just listening to the rich sounds and looking at the night sky.

As we approach home I say "We don't have to go home... We can keep driving"

And that is just what we did.
