355 engine fails leak down test

I see you guys point but while there is no doubt the hp/L of the 355 made it something special but it is sold to the public as a streetcar and I would hope streetcar life span. A race motor and a street motor are very different things. We could build for any lifespan and I wonder it buried deep at Ferrari SPA somewhere there is a lifespan target for 355 motors that are less than any other Ferrari motor just like DaveH found about the number of cycles designed into some Ferrari connectors. Still that 355 motor in good running condition screams like no other.

 

...and continues to be the basis and justification for my continued studies....I just like the darn thing. I know it has more to offer than we currently believe. For a long time I felt that Ferrari left very little on the plate with that power plant, I no longer believe that.

Any pics of your beast? exterior upgrades you planed were quite good looking over 1/2 year ago. So did they ever get done?

 

I think that with both a better cooling system and a better engine management system that controlled fuel a little better so that both could contribute to getting it cooler and fixing some exhaust issues it could live a much longer life. The 360's do and I really believe those are the 3 primary reasons.

 

Is that "1-2" years ago or "1/2" year ago, its been too long, I dont remember now. Last I remember Bruce was working out the issues of the snorkel disrupting airflow across the dual element wing but got worried about hwy overpass height constraints.

That issue has been resolved by the Govenor of GA......he felt my pain and passed a minimum height hwy overpass bill....now the sky is the limit!!!

My new wing is designed for the Ionosphere...lol

1-2 years....more like 10..haha

Pics??? That requires a camera and seeing that I have a huge Bosch sensor order to place today the camera budget went to zero...

Still a good ways out on the beasty....it's all Daves' fault...lol
