Sometimes when I try to leave my 348 with the doors already locked, when I press the 'unlock' button, they pop up and then immediately get sucked back down and lock.

It can be embarrassing since I can't leave my car.

I then have to look like an idiot trying to push the unlock button and pull on the handle at the exact right moment for the door to open.

    Anyone ever had this problem?

Could it be due to something relating to the tension of the door popup and the door lock solenoids pulling them open/closed?

It doesn't happen all of the time.

Same replay as your last thread for the windows.

Open the door, unscrew the connector (counter clockwise), check the pins. Then peal back the rubber boot and have a look to make sure you don't have any busted wires.

You may also want to have a look at the button under the center console. Make sure the connector is hooked up properly, and it isn't shorting out.

    You were right.

I took apart the door connector and one wire had come off. I soldered it back on and the door switch now illuminates and operates the door.

I do have one new problem though: when my top is down, you know how the window is supposed to go down a little when the key is removed? Well now my passenger's side window goes all the way down yet the driver's side just goes down a little.

Bad relay? Any ideas? Very weird.

I have never dealt with that because I don't have a spider. Though it could also be wiring related? Maybe one of our Brothers that has a spider could chime in with some advice?

348 Spiders have a box...maybe one box in each door...I've forgotten. That box lowers the window an inch (upon removing the ignition key) when the top is up so that it is easier to open/close the door.

The switch to tell the box (or boxes) that the top is up or down is just above the driver's visor in the top window undermolding. Cut the wires to the switch, or reverse the wires, I've forgotten which, and the boxes go dormant...yielding normal electric window operation (i.e. you press the down button if you want to lower a window, press the up button to raise a window...the 1 inch lowering feature is disabled).

Other than that box (or boxes), the windows are the same as every other 348.

Turns out that there was yet another broken wire in the wiring harness that went to the door connector.

I resoldered it and voila, the window now properly goes down only an inch instead of all of the way down when the top is off.

Thanks to everyone for their help! My door / windows problems are a thing of the past.

Hi, I am having the same problem with my door locks. The only problem is I can't even get the door open to check out the wiring. Ideas?
