When people asked to see the key to my Ferrari 348, they were not that impressed with it. I wanted a key that had the look of the new Ferrari's. So after looking around, I can across a company that made a carbon fiber key for the 348/355. It has a metal shield on it and has a very deep luster in the carbon fiber. It was not cheap but I am very happy with the look and feel of it (it actually has some weight to it). Now people are impressed when they see the key to my baby. Just in case anyone is interested, I will post the link to it below. I am sorry if this has already been covered (newbee here). Thanks, Todd

The only thing that made me pull the trigger on it was seeing the price of some of the converted F430 keys. They were around $400. The price still smarts but I try to move on. :D

Mine too, and although I think that key you bought looks fantastic, if someone doesn't like the look of my key to my 348SS, tough.

I dig that carbon fiber look. I couldn't find a really cool 348 key so I made a couple of these: http://crackle.com/c/Family_Friendly/348_key/2110657#tra=clickthrough&cmp=taf

I really did not get the new key because of what other people thought. It was more about what I thought about it. After seeing some of the keys of the newer cars, I just wanted something with a bit more zing to it. I am sorry if I stepped on any toes here. That was not my intention. This does lead me to a question though. I have the hinged black key myself. What is the purpose of the hinge? I have been wondering about that since I got the car. Thanks

Nice key! I think the hinge is to give a little more room from you knee possibly hitting it while driving. Depends on your seating position. Lower profile.

I have also been eyeing that carbon key for my 355 for some time now, just still having trouble justifying it to myself. Once I'm over it, I'll probably pull the trigger also...

that is very nice looking key, but IMO i think it is ridiculous to have to pay a few hundred dollars for key...it better have a lifetime guarantee for that price (sarcastic of course)

    No offense taken.

Good looking key tho. BTW, the hinge is what Dohangs said.

As the owner of the original F355 OEM key, an F50 key (the black key with the chrome Cavallino), a real Enzo key, and a Gothspeed key available through Ricambi - hands-down I would choose the Gothspeed key. The quality is impeccable (like everything Oz does) and pictures really don't do it justice. Do yourself a favor and purchase one, you will not regret it. As we all know, the F355 and F50 keys are NLA. IMO, the Enzo key is too large and really becomes cumbersome to carry after you've had it a while, not to mention the real Enzo keys are selling for >$700.00 on fleabay.
