Just no way for me... I prefer to stay with the original look..... but the rims of the 2nd pic looks good if the car body is in white color.... let's wait and see later for the comparison....
Here are my two Revell Ferrari 612s, built in 2007 and using Lion Roar detail sets. They are painted Cobra Colors (now defunct) Rubino Red and Blu Mirabeau. Fun kits to build, albeit with a few minor issues. I have two more that I want to build with transparent roofs, daytona-style seats and different wheels. Enjoy. Are those the stock brakes on the Revell kit? I am currently working on one of these an find that the brakes look as if they are from a civic! They are HORRID!
No, they are from the Lion Roar detail set (available from www.greatmodels.com, if it hasn't been discontinued). If you find one available, make sure you get the set that has two sheets of silver photo-etch parts, because early sets had one sheet of silver, and one sheet of brass. The brass sheet was annoying because it contained the brakes and front grill, so instead of looking realistic, i had to paint them. As you can see, the blue car's front grill is sharper because I painted it black, then scraped off the edges, revealing the silver beneath and creating a much cleaner appearance. On the red car, I had to paint the brass grill black, then paint the edges silver, which looks rougher in appearance.

A taste of a model i'm working on. this was a very old release (mid 80's i believe) 250 GTO by Burago. it was a very bland red. since i'm not fond of red cars, and prefer Ferrari's in almost any other color, I went with something a little less flashy. Nice!!! Make some stickers for that thing! Why is there no Lambo badge on the front and no Lambo sticker on the back?
Thanks guys Dan - my printer is not good enough to print small logos like that. Any idea where I can get some lambo decal sets online?
That looks awesome ApeGen. I have an orange LP640 by Maisto I was thinking of doing the same. How'd you make the spoiler though? Thanks, Chris
Hey guys, I have a black 1:18 Hot Wheels F430 that I am in the process of taking apart. All screws are removed, but it is still connected at the front. I think it is at the wheels. Do I have to snap something? Thanks for any help, and can anyone point me to a cheap 1:18 Hamann transkit with wheels that is reasonably priced? Preferably in the US. Thanks in advance! Chris
I don't really care for the looks of the 612 Scaglietti, but this customized model is VERY impressive. You can read more about it in this thread http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73944&highlight=scaglietti+612+model Image Unavailable, Please Login
