At least we're going in the right direction: A couple of weeks ago I finally got the distributors back together and set up. (To recap: after the first time I tried to get the GT4 back on the road in May, it turned out to be a disaster of ignition futility/backfiring and a gushing oil leak from the left bottom corner of the rear cam cover.)

Today the distributors went back in and the timing was set. It actually will idle and rev! Carbs are still off, but they just need to be fine tuned. I think there were two problems: 1) the inner bearing on one distributor was loose causing play in the shaft and 2) one of the dizzies had the primary points on (and wired through) the retard side.

Unfortunately, the thing is still leaking oil. We have to get it up in the air to figure out why my clipping of the gaskets did nothing to stop the deluge. (It looks like it's all coming from the corner near/below the smog pump mounting studs.

Sorry -- I meant "carb MIXTURE is still off"

Oh, and I also need to weld a crack in the rear exhaust manifold before it hits the road.
