Had a conversation with the FCA person on judging about this (can't remember his name but he is with Rutlands). He said that the triangles were for Euro cars not US. Some of the US owners have acquired them but they are not part of the correct equipment for judging.

I guess the later cars went plastic caps then, certainly understandable, but I have LOTS of 14" wheels and most of them are metal caps.....

I just remembered something else, the clock tag.

I have seen two, both at the concours field during nationals. There was a little tag on a string that hung off the clock stem when it was new.

Good luck with THAT. I would probably start with a "favorite" search on eBay and leave it looking for you, forever.

Do you have the time cards from when Luigi built the car? Sure looks like you have absolutely everything possible!

Looking at the clock tag make me think that someone needs to start making repro items like this. Another one would be the California smog sticker for the windshield; have one but mine has curled edges.

I knew about the valve stem caps. The judges deduct for the ones with horses. I did not know about the license plate frame. What about having the original frame that came with the car when originally delivered? My Mondial had the original Ferrari of Los Gatos frame. That's a deduction? I would think that would add bonus points.

That is one amazing 308, its so clean, so gorgeous, it looks like a new car. And talk about complete, you've the window sticker AND the original clock tag! WOW. Last time I saw a real clock tag on ebay, it was about $175. Very, very nice car and well presented. Are you showing her at the National FCA meet in Wisconsin?

OK, the clock tag is there - now all you need to do is track down the correct tag frame and I think you'll be set

    What an absolutely GORGEOUS car.

Regarding the license tag frame, I got dinged on that by the judge in my first Concours close to 20 years ago, so I went and got the "correct" one from Ferrari dealer in Atlanta. Here's how it looks.

What's the story with the fender and bonnet grilles: I don't recall ever seeing a Euro with them other than body colour, and see many pics on here with them black (US spec cars)
Did all US spec QV's have them black?

The car shown here looks absolutely pristine. Nice find!

The Ferrari of Los Gatos frame is a nice memento, but you won't get bonus points for it. If you are going to have your car judged you may want to check with people that have Judged Fcars to see how they feel about using a dealer installed plate frame. The first time I showed my car I got dinged for a plate frame that said Ferrari, it had been on the car since new. I didn't know I'd get dinged for it. The following year I ordered the same plate frame that is shown in Mike C's photo, and now no more dings for the frame.

    Best regards,
    Dino

Great looking car Tony, and its very impressive to see that your car has all of its original paperwork! Its a great find and I'm sure you will enjoy it.
