is $12k off MSRP a good or great deal? Thats ~$74k drive out on a loaded model.

I did not know that they cost - what - $86K list. They were asking 12K over just a short year or so back.

Anyway, in this day and time, I would not buy this car as a new registry...too many of them out there on the preowned market now.

nice, low milaeage 2008 Z06s are in the 56-60K range right now. 2009s will be higher. All in and drive out for 74K is not bad, but you can do better IMO. I bought new at that price level last November. Inventory is drying out, though.

the loaded one are about $82, so -12 off +TTL is approx 74k drive out. I like the 09's w/ the spider wheels and larger sump.
I target is hi 60K drive out for the loaded one.

Kverges, what do you think of the Z06 as a DD in Dallas? I find the ride to be stiff compared to the base Z51.

I don't think many Dallas drivers will put up with one very long if they have access to a Porsche.

I like my Z06 fine in Dallas and if anything it is a bit soft for me. Compared to my Gallardo the ride is similar, with more jounce stiffness and more roll than the G. Compared to my Viper GTS (in which I just HAD to install the ACR suspension) the Z is like a magic carpet.

As for Porsche, I like them just fine, but every one is underpowered except the GT2 (the Turbo is nearly there). My wife's (now former) 996 Cab was never in danger of being driven by me after the first few times. The 997 is better, but the Z06 is simply staggering from a power and torque standpoint. Takes a GT2 to beat it.

Aluminum Chassis, ~3100 lb, 505 hp (only car at that level as far as I know with no gas guzzler tax), dry sump, and I think an interior better than the 996 and not far behind a 997.

Price no object, I'd have a GT2 for sure. But for that kind of money I have my G and my Z and I like that better.

Go to the dealers, you may get a better deal on a new one than a used one these days

I'm looking at a '06 with only 19K on the clock Wed. Guys wants 41K. Has every option but nav. I was C5 Z06 shopping and having horrible luck finding a pristine, untouched one. So with C6Z prices dropping, I'm expanding my horizons!

Let's see if it's as nice as he says it is....

Not a bad price. The C5Zs were tough for me, as you know.

C6Z not in my budget and wasn't sure I wanted one. I want one now. :)

    Good luck.

I hear ya, so many C5Z's are modded to much for my taste, or have more miles then I want. The perfect cars have owners who think they can get 30K for them. To be honest, I still love the way they look and always wanted one. Still do....

BUT....if I can find a C6Z in my price range I'll pull the trigger. But I looked at one '06 last week that was pretty beat and was 39K. I'd rather a MINT C5Z then a beat C6Z.

I'm still not sure, see what happens....

Well finally heard back from the owner of the Z I was gonna look at. I never heard back from him because he totaled the car.......so back to the hunt. LOL, I have no luck!

Depends, if your one of those Vettes have crappy interior people, then yes. It's makes the interior much nicer, even the dash really is covered. Myself, I'd pass on the 4K and save the extra weight.
