Thousand miles that is. The special event happened last month, but am just getting around to posting it now. Bought the car 3 1/2 years ago with 19,500 miles. So 20,500 miles in 3.5 years works out to be 5,857 miles per year, thats a lot of smiles.

Now that I have joined the ranks of the devalued Ferrari's, I can drive around with less worry of any chips/scratches in the paint of the now "almost worthless" car. But it only has less value if its sold, and that will not be the case here, as I plan on keeping the car for a long while. I now get to look forward to all the fun I'll have working my way to the 60,000 mile mark.

Exactly, I would me more interested in a car that has done more miles but has been rebuilt or had all the usual things done than a car that is 30 years old and never been touched. Enjoy your "worthless" car ;)

154,000 km (nearing 100,000 miles) on my GT4. Still good for 213 rwhp, 165 mph and hardly any oil consumption at all. Low mileage cars, eat your heart out!

    ;)

Wow, I guess my car is almost worthless. Any body know where I can trade it in on a VW?

81 GTSi 92k and counting. And my baby doesn't use any oil. Great post.

Only with a Ferrari would 40K miles be considered "old". She's still a young wipper snapper. Drive it like Scumacher and have a ball. That's what it was made for.

congrats on all the fine drives to rwch 40,000! I personally would buy a well maintained 'high' mileage car over a garage queen with 'original' 5,000 miles after 23 years? any day !!!

Congratulations!! Welcome to the club!! As many have noted, looking at mileage alone and not how well the car is cared for is misleading to say the least.

Perhaps we should have a get-together for all us "worthless" car owners...

    Cheers!!

87 328, 63K miles, Platnum trophy earned this year, permanent smile pasted on my face...

Beautiful Doug, even at 40k miles, just beautiful.

Some asked you how do you clean your engine. Let me answer this for you. Do a search and you'll find a post where Doug explains his process and even, if I recall correctly, the number of beers it took to shine the valve cover.........lol

Today I wiped down my engine, I stared at the valve cover and ask myself "self, when are you gonna get to shine'in that cover."
Thats some tedious work getting inbetween and all......

my gabriella turned 40 last month. i believe we were blasting up the 2-lane at the time.
i commented to my frau that we passed a milestone of sorts. she asked what was that.

i said gabriella will need a major service next spring.

My 82 Mondial 8 turned over 40 000 miles on the way home from work Thursday.
When I saw the car on ebay sept 07 and was musing about it wife came in and asked what i was lookign at.
    Showed it to her.
She asked if I would drive it
When I said of course I would drive it she said go for it.
It had 31 000 on it then.
Ohh well I bought it as a drive hope to get it up to 100k or so and then can part it if need be will have gotten my money's worth out of it.
Either that or wife will have big auction when I amm gone ot get rid of cars parts and tools.

Glad to hear it, Dr! I thought I had the world's highest-mileage Ferrari at 102,000 (and counting :) ) Supposedly it's severely devalued, but who cares? Dave Helms said it's by far one of the best running 308 engines he's seen. . . and it's NOT for sale. ;)
