can someone tell me if it is ok to top up my coolant expansion tank with pure anti freeze or does it have to be diluted with water.........if so what is the correct ratio?

It's fine to just add anti-freeze. Obviously if you add too much anti-freeze you could reduce the ability of the radiators to cool, but in small amounts this is not an issue.

A better approach, however, is to buy Prestone's 50/50 pre-mix coolant. Then you never have to worry about your anti-freeze ratio, or about the quality of your water (did I use distilled water or tap?!).

In small quantities it will make no difference except on the Internet, where proponents of tap water and advocates of distilled water will talk your ear off.

Buy the Prestone 50/50! You'll never have to worry about what type of water was used.

Just saying if I notice mine is a tad low, instead of going to store and paying for a gallon of 50/50, I have deionized water at home free....
