Fun shots Cosmic ! Being that close to the big cat must have been amazing. Let's see some more animal shots out there.
They are amazing when they walk right next to your car Unfortunately you are not allowed to step out and pet them The Rhinos are interesting as well They will have these small infights, even close to the cars
all taken a few years back from a local zoo... whipped the camera out after seeing this fella cross the road

I love the zoos. Sucks to see the animals locked up like that, (wont rant ) but it is a chance to see a lot of animals you would never get to see anyways right? First one is my favorite, it's a hippo drinking from it's fountain at Denver Zoo 2nd is a polar bear takin a swim 3rd is an Orangatan getting up close 4th is feeding a giraffe at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colo Springs 4th and 5th are at Knoxville Zoo Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

These were all in one day at Jackson Hole. Early morning was close to a herd of 100+ American Bison, saw the mule deer crossing the water, and later around a small lake, and that evening behind a golf course near Harrison Ford's 1000 acre ranch, being surrounded by a herd of 200+ Elk. Kept tweaking the ISO as evidenced in the last pic. Listened to their bugling for another 30 minuets. Nature's surround sound. It's a fantastic experience. Most of the time they are just lazy big cats resting or walking around in the shadow. occationally they do actually walk up to the car and rub against the car It is of course illegal to roll down the window and pet them, eventthough it is extremely tempting It's also amazing to drive by two rhinos who fight each other less than 5 meters away. They walk around and then suddenly the go into a huge 1 minute fight, then they walk around again

this thread is great. here are a few of mine from the Jacksonville Zoo. The little bird was about 10 inches from my lens and the King Cobra was right against the inside of the glass with the lens right against the outside. Gave me the chills being 2 inches away from something that could kill me in a matter or minutes and staring him right in the eye. Not the greatest picture ever, but I took this with my phone at the San Diego Zoo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
