Good points. But to be frank, Hammi is just frustrated as Rubens was.

They should have pitted him, just to get the winging roadblock off the track and off our screens!

Seriously, the way he started that race was so typical Hamilton. Try and win the GP in the first corner, go off the track and then come back on expecting everyone to let him in.

"Dont you guys know im Lewis Hamilton"? Let me in!

Interesting theory, but completely devoid from reality. Do you think Mark Webber is in the habit of apologizing to drivers randomly? or maybe, just perhaps, the first corner incident was Webber's fault and not Hamilton's? Webber knows he hit Hamilton, that's why he sent an apology, and Hamilton wasn't doing anything wrong.

It was a GREAT start from Hamilton, and not even the haters can make up a scenario that includes the slightest bit of reality where Hamilton is to blame.

Rain was forecast, anything could have happened. Champions never give up, besides these Mclaren's have bullet-proof reliability. It was clear he was frustrated and was looking for an excuse. Hamilton should be ashamed.

I hate Mclaren and I don't like Lewis cause he drives for Mclaren :p but I agree with him. Why bother cruising around in last place when the rules will penalize you later in the season for running more than 8 engines. His job is to finish in the points not drive around for the heck of it.

There is no way he could of got into the points, bar 10 odd cars breaking down, running off the road in front of him. Look at the 2007 German race, Winkelhock went from last to 1st because of the good tyre strategy but at no stage was he lapped at the beginning of the race. Lewis that race had a fast car and ended up in the gravel, he was able to un-lap himself due to the rules at the time and still only managed to get 10th.

Going by his experience he knew he was wasting his time and everyone saying "could rain" well he isn't going to magically drive better in worst conditions in a car which already is a handful to drive in the dry. Mr Lauda wasn't in the car with him, we don't get to hear the whole conversation lap by lap, we get 10sec of conversation to make the viewers feel like they are part of the race. Who knows what the other drivers are talking about during the race. Mr Lauda is being too critical. For all we know Kimi discusses ice cream flavours.

kraftwerk: Why is it funny, he is the current champ( :( ) and speaks English very well, they rather speak about him or to him than Mr Icecream

Next year it will be the same, Button* will be running mid field because Mclaren and Ferrari will be back at the top and you will be asking the same question why is everyone talking to him

    * - Whoever is 2009 champion.

I take it you didn't see the race in shanghai, where hamilton spun off 3-4 times? Besides, he was already lapped by the first 6-8 guys and he wasn't going to unlap himself.

In silverstone last year, with torrential rain, he won the race by over a minute. But that was because he drove faultless and could do so because his rain setup was amazing.

He wasn't going to win the race, nor score any points because of the weather. Or earthquake. Or a meteor smashing in the middle of the track. It wasn't going to happen because his car was damaged. end of story.

Tony a fair post from someone with hate ..I can't personally hate any team but thats another issue. Mosley I do hate full stop.

The point I was making was not so much the tabloids but the arm chair critics, on here! who scrutinize and hang on every word he says and if there is even a slight chance he slipped up they feed like demented piranhas.. quite amusing the lengths some go, and the thread lengths are proof of that.

Anyway I respect your point of view..

I post on here less and less often, because of the ridiculousness of the relationship between the users.
I just want to say that the more I read about both, how boneheaded the Hamster is and how great he is, I can think of only one thing.
Michael Schumacher at Brazil 2006. Had his tire cut, fell down a lap and got back to passing everyone up to third place. At the last race of his career. No crying to come in. No pointing fingers. Just pure driving.
Don't you guys dare to ever comparing Lewis Hamilton to the greats.
    He is just not worthy.

All that needs to happen next weekend is for Hamilton to lose an engine or gearbox and then all this useless chatter will take yet another turn.

Wow, spot on. For what it's worth, MS was down over 70 seconds to the leader at one point in that race if I remember right and fought his way back. A real racer.

I disagree. Hamilton's job is to drive as best as he can at all times. Lauda is absolutely correct on this one. Lauda came back 3 weeks after having most of his body burned to finish the season. What the hell is Hamilton's excuse? Spare me the excuses.

There was no point in driving the race out. I'm not a fan of him so I don't need to defend him, but for christ sakes, there was very little point in him driving the race since they couldnt use any of the data since his car was broken anyways. And there was no chance of him getting points. Those are the facts and thats that.

English press seem to throw "the next MS" around with enthusiasm. Last year it was Lewis, this year Jensen.
Bloody kiss of death if you ask me. It turns everyone else of the anointed one completely. ;)

Aussie press are nearly as bad with "our mark webber"

yup, just look at what they did with andy murray, before he even entered wimbledon the papers already claimed ''this year Murray will be the first Briton to win wimbledon since 1633 (or something)''. Now I was glad he didn't win becuase he's an arrogant, annoying dick but the british press love to build up someone a lot, and then bring him down.
Now maybe its because i'm Dutch and we never win anything, but we never have these things, lol:D

True although he is Scottish...Oh dear I really like the Scots honest!!! so I support him when he wins...he is damn good though, IMO sportsman tend to have this attitude when at the top of there game, not a rule that applies to all I hasten to add though.

One of my best friends is Dutch and he hates the Dutch...work that one out..;) I can't see much difference with us Brits when it comes to football pack mentality ect..however you Dutch do seem a bit taller than us lot ...;)

They MORE than compared him to MS, F1 Racing (a Brit mag, of course) had a cover with Hambone that read "Is he the best ever, already?".

Foolish and premature, no question. And even for the season preview for this year had Hambone prominently on the cover (of course how could they have known what was going to happen!!).

Alonso learned how to become a better human being after some forced humility, perhaps it will help Hambone as well. I haven't seen too much evidence yet that it's made a big difference, other than the pleasant fact that we hear less of his mouth on camera this season. One can only hope it will sink in by the end when someone else (certainly not Lewis) takes the WDC.

"Is he the best ever, already?" is a question not a statement.

Why shouldn't they have him prominently on the cover?, he's the world champion.
