My speedo is dead and I'm pretty sure it is my sender. I have a funnel shaped sender on my '75 308GT4. My parts book says part number 106324. The usual suspects for parts all list a superceded part number 124146. I'm just a little concerned because there are threads here that mention that getting the wrong sender can show double speed, and it looks like the new part number perhaps has its impeller offset from the input allowing for some gearing, where my sender has no gearing, it is is striaght through. Has anyone put 124146 on an early-ish car?

    Hi Brian
That is the correct replacement for the original sender.

Cool, thanks! I'll order one tonight.
I became fairly confident last night as I cruised all the parts sites and they all went to this part. If just one supplier moved to this part it might be a mistake, but it looks like everyone has. That's a good sign.

I replaced the one in the first pic with the one in the second pic (from Superformance) and the speedo came back to life, '80 GTSi.

The double reading is due to QV gearbox with a totally different sender being fitted to a 2V car. As Gerritv and other said , you have the correct sender.

It may be of some interest that when the speedo sender of my 74 GT4 started playing up I got a similar unit from a Fiat dismantler that was from a Fiat Croma (old style). It looked the same as the one in the 2nd photo. Its been running perfectly for 12 years now.

    Markings were:

    Original: 68 1041 4B 12V 4 IMP/G

    Replacement: 68 1025 9B 12V 4 IMP/G
