Had to go back to Chris' previous thread to remember which beer I bought yesterday, haha.

I came across Victory Brewing's Hop Wallop (the old chubby faced guy on the label). It was the last 6-pack on the shelve. I almost walked away without it, but since it was the last one I grabbed it.

It's sitting in my pantry currently because I've been more in the mood for dark beer lately (also bought Beck's Dark). Once I try it I will post my thoughts.

Chris, I've tried to form a mental-photo-note of the beer pics you've posted, as to whether I should try one thing or another.

Hop Wallop is a good hop bomb beer (and local to me too :) ). They've started brewing it year 'round which is even better. I told the victory rep that i was happy it was now a year round brew and he said a lot of people are really happy about it

I began seeing Victory several months ago, and was surprised when this one popped out at me.

I think I went on a day they got all their deliveries because they were STOCKED! The fact that there was only one left (bottom shelf too) gave me an indication that it was going fast. Glad some of the breweries up north are realizing the market in Texas (especially Houston) is there.

You know it. While I've only been in Spec's a handful of times over the past 6 months I've noticed an increase selection of new brewery options. Always good to see.

Jason, you need to find some Sierra Nevada Harvest ale:

    http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/45560

(the 2nd release which is the one i have has a blue label, not red)

Its very close to Pliny the Elder in terms of taste (IMO) and is very good. If you can't find any, PM me and i'll send you some. I found some a few weeks ago and it was really good. I picked up another bottle today at my local store but i'm told its pretty hard to find now

    Thanks Chris.

I'm almost positive I've seen this. I'll pay attention next time I'm there. Thanks for the heads up.

Have finally popped open several Hop Wallops over the past few days.

The more I drink the more I like it. It's quite a different flavor, but it grows on you.

I know I've seen the Harvest ale. But I think only in 32oz(?) bottles. Still have to get it though. Probably this weekend.

Have to look for Stone Anni. I've only had Arrogant Bastard, but didn't like the chocolatey flavor. How does the Anni taste in comparison?

Went by a Brewing store yesterday. The smell was intoxicating. Tons of live yeasts and fresh hops and barley. Kits for wine and a small kit to make your own absinthe too.

Hmm. You might not like it if you didn't like Arrogant Bastard

    Had Sierra Nevada Summer Lager.

Pretty light and goes down easy.

Had some (6pack) of the Sierra Summerfest on Tuesday evening, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was I'm generally not the biggest fan of summer ales but this one was A o.k.

In addition heres a quick shot of my recent purchases from tonight while going to pick up a bottle of wine as a birthday gift for a relative. Ha I had to get "a little something" for myself while I was there! From Left to Right there is: Lagunitas Lil' Sumptin Ale 6pk, Pranqster 4pk, Sierra Nevada Southern Harvest Ale, Sierra Nevada Wet Hop Ale, Flying Fish Brewing Co. Exit 11 American Wheat, Flying Fish Brewing Co. Exit 4 American Tripel, and Victory Brewing Co. Golden Monkey 6pk...

I really like the Summerfest as well. It so smooth and light, too smooth actually. I would drink one way too fast.

Had New Belgium Skinny Dip. It's okay. It has a odd taste which I'm not that fond of. I think it was taste much better with a lemon.

This hasn't been bumped in a while.

Finally had the Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale. Pretty good. I'll have to have it again for better judgement.

If you're in the mood for a stout, but don't want to shell out the extra money for Guiness, Murphy's is pretty good.
