I posted the rules in qualifying thread... but here they are again.

After qualifying is done it comes down to Max+friends to decide.

Honestly if something really bad happens to Massa so that he cannot compete for the rest of the season or in F1 again I will be so upset it's not even funny.

I hate to break the bad news, but his return this season isn't looking too likely.

I sure hope you're right, but I can't help but recall what happened to Mark Donohue. I'm old enough to remember it quite well. I wish we could get some updates on Felipe's condition.

I would not be terribly surprised if he decided to call it quits period after this incident--especially with the baby on the way and everything. One one hand i'd hate to see it happen but on the other--I couldn't really blame him...
Get well soon Felipe! thoughts and prayers are definitely with him.

What a bad bad luck. I am glad he hit tire wall and not a concrete wall, imagine being unconcious and hit a wall.
He is a fighter and he wil be back soon to drive the Ferrari. I wish him well and a quick recovery.

When they said he was combative to the emergency crew, I became concerned. That behavior is a common reaction for someone with a brain injury. I hope he has a quick and full recovery. Damn, I miss him already. He's really one of the reasons I watch F1.

I agree unfortunately. I have a good friend who is currently recovering from a brain injury he received back in February from a motorcycle accident and it can be a very slow process. Let's hope that is not the case here, but an impact at those speeds, even though some was absorbed by the helmet, is going to transfer quite a bit of force to his head and the brain.

Best wishes for a full recovery for Massa. :)

I hope for his own sake, he won't return this season. There's no point risking it all over again.

Umm, pentobarb comas not used in "injuries light". I wish him well, but I fear this is worse than it seems.

I quoted some of the relevant and more easily understood passages from link.

    http://www.allbusiness.com/health-care-social-assistance/nursing-residential/677899-1.html
RICH is refractory intracranial hypertension, FWIW.

<<Marked, sustained elevation of ICP is problematic and can cause significant brain damage or death (Bullock et al., 2000; Hickey, 2003). This is because ICP affects cerebral perfusion, ischemia, and tissue infarction. Consequently, RICH is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate identification and aggressive intervention (Bullock et al., 2000; Myles, Malkoff, Perry, Bucholz, & Gomez, 1996). The etiology of this life-threatening condition is most often traumatic brain injury (TBI) but can be attributed to other factors. Trauma can create intractable elevations in ICP via direct physical disruption of cerebral functions or indirectly via disruption of normal physiological processes...>>

    <<Outcomes

It is believed that decreasing ICP has a beneficial effect on mortality. Studies have shown that the risk of death for patients with intractable elevated ICPs is four or five times that for similarly injured patients with normal ICPs (Lee et al., 1994; Schalen, Sonesson, Messetter, Nordstrom, & Nordstrom, 1992). Barbiturate therapy acts to decrease ICP, thereby indirectly affecting mortality. However, research into the efficacy of barbiturate therapy has not yielded consistent results.

Functional recovery statistics are as elusive as mortality statistics. The range of outcomes for mortality and functional status makes quantifying the benefits of pentobarbital coma therapy difficult. The benefits reaped through life years saved, as a result of this treatment regime, are highly personalized. For this article, quantifying life years saved is left to patients and their families to determine or to researchers who choose to undertake this difficult-to-quantify cost-versus-benefit analysis.>>

Not back soon, I suspect. May not be back functional. May not be back.
Godspeed he does. I lost a friend at Road America this way. RIP Ken.
