Notice the bold part - we all know how we can trust Diario AS on things they claim to know. Now they only "believe it is possible" -> completely made up.

The last paragraph however is interesting. If such a condition in Alonso's contract exists, it might be the loophole he's surely looking for!

You know what, I can see this happening, If Flav were to Let FA drive for ferrari, No matter what their contract is between them, this would be two fingers up to the FIA, It strikes me as something Flav would do, and lets face it, Ferrari want the best driver available they could get...?

Why would it be bad for FIA? It would mean that ticket sales for Valencia would shoot up -> a lot of money for Bernie and Max, and they'd avoid (or even win) the discussion whether they crippled the race with the crazy money they want...

Right, a race team is going to allow his ace to go play with another team for one race, and bring his
technological knowledge with him, of course.

i want some of that think that all spanish "journalists" are smoking.

The way I read it, they suggest that Alonso can *completely* get out of his contract now because Renault would have to supply a car for every race (which they can't now), meaning that he'd leave Renault for good and replace Massa, at least for the rest of the season.

    Seriously!

They should do that and use it in some charity event or something.

I don't see Massa coming back this year, maybe Alonso does have an out.

It makes sense for any driver to have in their contract that their employer must give them the oppostunity to drive each race. otherwise you could have teams go belly up and the drivers would be stuck without the ability to find another ride for the remainder of the season.

What would be a bit funny is if Alonso/Ferrari announces the replacement drive, ticket sales go crazy, and then either the FIA or Renault somehow kill the deal. I can see that happenning too.

+1 Unfortunately, I think the samething. It would be something though, remember when he tested the 08 Car and was faster than Kimi and Massa?

The Alonso for 1 race theory is far fetched.

Ferrari would never allow a driver to try the car out for one race and go back to his team with 'baggage'

If Alonso could, on grounds of mal-prestation of his current employer, get out of his contract it would make sense to employ him for the rest of the season.

The there is the question of 2 captains on the ship: KR won't give way to FA and vice versa.

A big can of worms if you ask me.

It would make much more sense to have MS take the seat, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Felipe will be ready to re-claim his place.

If did that then I would be in 20th place. I figure I can drive him into the wall and became a star on FChat. :D You forgot I drive in Florida & I slept in a Holiday Inn express!

    sorry for the weird title

will massa ever come back? If he is out for the season, he may just decide not to come back - an injury like this could make him think it's not worth it, plus he has his first child coming later this year and I am sure that can change his mind, plus will F be strong enough to be a credible title contender next year? Lots of moving parts.
