Hi Guys (and Girls!), My son and I are taking a week's vacation to have our spleens thrown out at various amusement parks. (King's Island, Sandusky). His idea naturally. But I am looking very forward to spending some time together.

To appease his dear old dad, he has agreed - without actually being consulted - to accompany me on AT LEAST ONE car 'thing'. This means cool dealership, new, used, classic, an event (?) whatever might be available week of August 3 -7.

Just checking with people who actually know so I won't miss something special! Thanks in advance.

I also suggest going to Marshall Goldman. They always have great cars in stock and nice employees, too.

There's a car show every Tuesday night at Solon Commons in Solon, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland). According to their website, August 4th is Two Seat Sports Car night.
For more info check out http://rnrcsm.com/index.php. Lots of muscle cars and classic cars come to this show. Occasionally an exotic or two will show up.

Also, there is Best of Show Automotive (Mentor Museum of Speed) in Mentor, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland), although I think you have to pay to get in. For more info, check out http://bestofshowautomotive.com/.

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions please let me know.

Have fun on your trip! :)

I accidently drove by Marshall Goldman in Cleveland last weekend and that place is amazing! I just wish they would have been open when I did.

Mopar Nationals is being held in Columbus August 7-9 at National Trails Raceway. They'll have several thousand mopars there, new and old.

I live literally 2 miles away from where the Mopar Nationals are. If you want to do something free, the cruise at night in Heath, Oh (right down the road) is really cool. Every one just parks and stands on the side of the road and all the muscle cars do burnouts into the night and the cops dont care its on a public road.

Wow guys! Who says Yankees aren't nice?!?! Thanks a ton, really. I was away from the site all day, and I've now got a double endorsement on Goldman (whoa, they add a new dimension to 'retail pricing'!) plus an every Tuesday show, the Mopar nationals and a private collection! Thanks again. Let me run this by my son, making sure I don't actually ask him until we're commited. More suggestions, the better we like it.

For sure, Goldman is on the 'must do' list. And BUNDAS, that is an overly generous offer. I see you own a Bora. What can you tell me about it? Is it 'available'? Always had a weak spot for those cars.

There is always Cars and Coffee at Quay 55 in Cleveland every other Saturday. Although I think the next one will be August 1st so you may miss it.

There is also a weekly Cruise In at an old diner in Mentor (eastern suburb of Cleveland) called Annabelle's. Every Saturday night, no exotics usually but some really nice Hot Rods and Muscle Cars. Good time and pretty good food especially the old style milk shakes. If you think you may be in the area shoot me an email [email protected]

F1 - How long has RH been there they are about 10 minutes from my house and I never knew about them. Not exactly the area that you would expect a high end dealer to be.

I would also stop by Midwestern Auto Group on the way from Cincy to Cleveland. Its on the west side of Columbus and they usually have a few good things to look at. Although the sales guys are usually pretty uptight.

Not car related, but there is the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. If you are into that sort of thing.

Cedar Point at Sandusky is serious FUN! Sunday evenings are the best time since most folks have gone home at the end of the weekend. If you stay at one of the park's hotels, you are allowed into the park early before it opens to the general public and you should be able to get in 2-3 coaster rides where you don't have to stand in line. Watch the hotel lobby sign to tell which coasters open early, then dart there first thing.

Definitely, and thanks. My son is just learning the guitar - pretty well I might add - so this'll make the cut for sure.

Great advice. Thanks again. We have this on our list, and invested in the VIP whatever pass thingy that gets you up front with no waiting. Probably overpaid, but standing in line was never one of my favorite activities.

GREAT idea. Am looking into that now. Thanks again. You guys have been a huge help.

Thanks Grant and ALL who responded. It was a WONDERFUL trip. We did King's Island (Cincinnati), rented a car, drove to Cleveland. Went to the Rock and Roll Museum, then to Marshall Goldmans (Superb inventory). Then to Cedar Point, where I had my spleen thrown out on a ride. Did the VIP thing - VERY worthwhile. Then to Columbus, which GPS took us on a route of some of the most beautiful countryside I've ever seen. Farms for miles, lovely driving, and I missed having ANY other car than a rental at the moment!

It was, in all, a fantastic journey, and thanks again!
