My non-Ferrari fun car is 65 corvette convertible.
Color is red/red with white top. 327/350 hp w/ 4-speed stick.
Owned it a long time. Great fun on sunny days. Not my d-d.
And the side pipes rumble some. :)

Please define sportscar: Honestly, I was thinking the same thing. But, here's my take:

    After the F430 spider its:

Maserati Spider and Mini Cooper S works. Both excellent, fun machines. Neither even close the F430 in "sportiness' though.

Not to hijack this thread---I would agree that the base model Cooper is "best bang for the buck" but you can't believe how 220 HP changes how the Cooper feels. Honestly, the S is just OK but the "works" really brings it to life. The downside -- it's really expensive per HP gained.

I sold my 430 about 3 months ago, so my other sports car 08' 997TT (cabriolet, manual 6 speed) is kinda my daily driver until my 599 HGTE arrives..........

I bought it for my wife as her second car, she friggin LOVES it. I have always loved 911's but this car didn't rock my world like my 430. Now that I'm driving it a lot Im beginning to "get it" and enjoy driving it...........BUT....... compared to my 430......It's just not even close. That being said, the Porsche is a brilliant machine that is growing on me.

My "other sports car" 750i the short wheel base car with sport package. I am very impressed with the way this 4500 lb. car handles(never buy a 7 w/o this pack.) Just returned from MT and got 23 miles/gal at 85-90 back and forth. Very surprising car.

    Nice!

I was thinking about picking up an earlier (2003) S2000. Always admired them and they are fun cars - you can get them at a reasonable price, although I prefer one that hasn't been modded.

How do you like it as a DD? Since I work mostly from home, my DD wouldn't see too much road time other than weekends, so that probably works well with the S2000!

I currently do not have a sports car, i.e. topless two seater. I do have a GT, my BB512i for weekend fun and a "hot hatch" as my DD, a MazdaSpeed3 GT.

I love it. Some find the interior too cramped but at 5'8", I think it's comfy. It's also just a nice place to sit with leather seats/doors/center console and an F1-style gauge cluster. Handling is superb as is reliability. The 4-cylinder motor is a gem. 8k redline and if you get a pre-04 model, they scream to 9k!

Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions. I researched for a year before purchasing mine and know a great deal about them. Check out http://www.s2ki.com/forums too for tons of info.

Will do, thanks...I've been looking for awhile myself. The main reason I passed was because I have kids, and I prefer having a sedan "just in case".

However, given the price on older models, I can swing one easily...maybe keep the GS and have the S2K for fun. Still need to liquidate the 240Z though...
