I think Kimi is great! Can Michael drive with a hang over and very little sleep due to the party the night before? I don't' think so!

Kimmi(and poor Massa) are a big,and expensive, spends of time for Ferrari If you compare with Schumi Ferrari era.
Kimmi was champion by "carambola" with a team on the top of the list,,,,Schumi was 7 times champion, and made Ferrari come back at top of the scuderias list after a looooooot of years of Ferrari loses.
Kimmi has to dream to be look like Schumi.

oh :D great......no onz getz complexz on the netz :D

On the better side....I truly expect Kimi to be even better than normal...like top of his game.

kind of like playing with Tiger Woods where even the least suspect improves his game by a few, less strokes: seeing a win-win here

Michael was "the best" and was surrounded by the best wingmen with Todt and Brawn. Together, they were a once in a lifetime dream team. Kimi hasn't had the same chemistry nor the same personnel and momentum from the championship years. The wave had already crested by the time he arrived.

I am of the belief that Kimi has all of the raw talent that Micheal had in his prime, but is a little too rough around the edges for the Ferrari team and his internal support has suffered. It will be interesting to see what happens if they are both given equal equipment. Then and only then will we learn how the two compare.

Bernie couldn't ask for a better episode to rejuvenate interest in F1. Ticket sales and ratings will certainly skyrocket with the return of MS.

My hope is that Massa regains his health.

im not sure if comparing the two will leads us any good !

Micheal is by far ahead when it comes to records and wins !

now if we talking about today, everyone of us will come up with just predictions yet we really dont know.

for me i feel he is faster even today.

    he is just gifted.

so better we wait for the next race.

and its nothing personal but so far Massa is the best drivers far better than Kimi IMHO.

he just need to concentrate more during the race since i feel he get lost sometimes or just lose concentration then he will be the F1 Rock Star.

and i have to admit MS comeback made me happy all day.

    Agree totally.

I can't help but think Kimi has never fit in a Ferrari... and is at the point where he's collecting his check and no longer caring about results.

He really *is* a totally different driver to what he was a few years ago. And sadly so... he was so amazing at McLaren.

I am euphoric over MS's return. However, I would be surprised if he placed any better than midfield. Let's face it, he hasn't raced in F1 for years. He has not been in an F1 physical training regime,is coming off a motorcycle injury, and has no experience with the new cars or with KERS for that matter in an actual racing environment. I can't imagine him giving Kimi or the revived Hamilton a real run for their money out of the gate. But if he gets to race until the end of the season, I think by maybe the second or third race, he will be back to form.

    I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!

So many say he has no experience with the new cars.....WTF they have 4 wheels still dont they? he tested not that long ago. Some are making it sound like hes coming back at 89 years old.

I can't wait to see how this pans out. Expect MS to spend 60 mins of each 60 minute practice session behind the wheel Aug 21/22. Of course that's nothing compared to the hours Kimi has had, but MS is a champion and I hope it's like riding a bike for him.

I think something else to consider will be how Ferrari deal with the percieved rivalry between their two drivers. If they play it down and make happy families then I think we can assume that Kimi will be a around in 2010. If they do nothing or even fan the flames; effectively throwing Kimi to the mob, then I think we can assume that FA will be filling his seat in 2010.

Does anyone know if the ban on F1 includes previous years cars, as it would be a good way for MS to improve his driver fitness level. Alternatively if it does cover anything F1, would it not be possible for him to get up to speed in another open wheeler, eg a Ferrari powered A1 car? I accept they arent the same, but in terms of increasing his fitness and reactions it would help a lot I'm sure.

Agree JoeZaff. What all of you MS fans seem to forget is that the Ferrari car just isn't that good. MS will put it in the points, but winning races is totally a pipedream. F1 is 85% car...at least. What MS was so good at, even better than his driving, was putting a team around him and creating the car through dedication and hard work over a l o n g period of time. Brawn is gone, Ferrari can't get out of thier own way sad to say.

I love owning a Ferrari, but the days of his 7 championships are a thing of the past, at least for now. The drivers will be motivated to kick his arse too, so everyone will drive harder now for the rest of the way, so even as good as MS is, he will have a tough time keeping up with Vettel and Weber...

I dunno... MS is on a talent level alone. This is the guy that hoisted the Ferrari into P5's and P6's when Rubens was finishing P16 and P18. He will make the most of that car - I think podiums are very likely, and I will be ecstatic if he can get a win, and if he has the season to do it, I think he can.

I also wonder if this might be a comeback for more than just a few races? Let's face it - MS is a competitor who loves to win. Massa and Kimi both look to be out next year at Ferrari. Once he gets back in the car, he's going to feel his blood pumping like it hasn't in a while. He's gonna feel the fire again. And if he is competitive, then I can see him being very interested in an offer from Ferrari next year, and if he comes in and kicks ass, I can see Ferrari wanting to extend such an offer. It's been a rough few years for the red team.

I'm sure Michael has spent some time in the F60 for early development and he has definitely spent time in multiple Ferrari F1 cars since his retirement as consultant to the team. Michael is an A-1 competitor and I think he will get back into the swing of things.

Want to talk about something pathetic? Imagine if KIMI came back after 2 years of retirement with a radically different car. Who knows, by then Kimi may be too fat to even fit in an F1 car. He'd definitely be even lower on testosterone by then.

I believe he will get a couple before it's over. I'm not holding my breath for miracles, but I expect him to outperform Kimi after a few races. I look forward to seeing the return of the LEAP!!!! I've never seen anyone that relishes an F1 victory like Michael, even after 80+, each one was electrifying to him!!

Good points, but I believe Michael will finish several positions higher than Kimi on average once underway, which isn't so bad.

It is impossible make a credible comparison of drivers across F1 eras. Schumi was the best of all those he raced against. Numbers of championships is a fair measure of his dominance of his on-track rivals. That's all.

The Kimi vs Michael battle will be very interesting to watch. Kimi should be miles ahead of Michael as Michael has never driven a modern F1 car, has never used KERS, has not raced on slicks for years or without TC. If Michael beats Kimi 25% of the time I will be hugely impressed.

Wow...just wow. This is the last thing i was expecting. But i'm just so excited MS will be back. i suddenly can't wait for the next race. Schumi's presence will defnitely boost ticket sales, and who knows, saves F1's future :D

On the serious note, i really have no idea what to expect. Neck injury, not 100% fit, age, new regulations, never drove the car before..etc...all of this is Schumi's obstacle...Let's see if he can do something about Ferrari's situation now.

In Valencia there will be 4, no, 3 world champions, none of them having a chance at the title this year.
Among them two won in Ferrari, but never raced against each other in Ferraris before.

Four other drivers are fighting for the title.

Even without names, this sounds pretty good.

Had no intention to go to Valencia, but now I have to (a mere 180 km away).

Do you think they remember FA and Renault are "banned"????

That "little" issue remains to be worked out. I hope they rescind the ban so we can see all players on the same field - MS, KR, FA, LH, SV, etc...

Meanwhile, Schumacher's F1 return is generating plenty of interest.

"So excited to see Michael Schumacher race again," cycling legend Lance Armstrong, who recently pulled off his own sporting comeback, said on his Twitter page. "The greatest of all time!" the American added.

Felipe Massa's father also welcomed the news. "I am sure Felipe will be happy," Luiz Antonio said.

Italy's La Gazzetta dello Sport said Schumacher will prepare for Valencia in the Fiat driver simulator in Turin. “The whole of Formula One celebrates," the newspaper said.

Yeah, lets talk about pathetic. Having lived half of my life in Finland and half of it in the US I can say without hesitation that almost all the truly pathetic lard-asses are in the US. As a rule, the further south you go, the more pathetic.

    Anything else?
