Morning Dan. How is it that you're up at this hour? Shouldn't you be sleeping or something? See you Friday. (For those of you who are not informed on this dmw is my nephew, and a certified car nut.) DM
I think you made the right choice with the 430 wheels vs. the Scud wheels. Can't wait to see the finished product!!
Yes.. I should have been sleeping, but big bro got his car over to the dealership to get new brakes. So I offered to drive him home. So excited on the rims! I was going to buy a gti yesterday but.. I got fired on Monday. I'll tell ya the full story tomorrow
Well that sucks, guess we'll put the GTI on hold for now, eh? But everything happens for a reason, now you can concentrate on school for the fall!!! get some kick ass grades and roll into college looking like a star. MAybe just back off on looking for a job for a month or so? OR find something that'll fill the hours make you a few bucks and get you through the summer? See ya' Friday. UD (That's Uncle Dave, of course)
Was my car sittin' at Algar? Or were you way off your mark out in Phoenixville when I was killin' paper targets? Maybe it was Wayne? Or were you at the airport this morning too? I had one busy ass day. DM
Keepin' em. Stick them in a corner in the garage, put them back on when (if) ok when, I sell the car someday. DM
You were at the light in 'nova waiting to turn left onto Lancaster in the early afternoon. Maybe 1:30ish?
Wheels arrived Friday AM!! Thanks Brian !!! Couple quick shots in the driveway this AM More when I stop driving around like an idiot. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, no, no. I voted for Dave to keep the stock wheels....they just look great, in my humble opinion. That said, however, he did pick the next best wheel for his car. If the change was inevitable, this was the wheel to get.
I have to agree. Maybe it is the color of the car, but the new wheels seem to be just right for it. I like the original starfish wheels, but I like these on the car even better.
No problem. Glad that we could help each other. I agree. Great color match and now the 360s lines are not "softened" by the curves on the stock wheels. I like this look even better than the modular wheels. --------------- Brian McKeown
Only downside? With that much rubber up front, and the wider track, it does steer a little heavier, and tracks a little more sensitively. I'd guess it's about 3/4" more rubber per tire, maybe a little more. DM
when is the stereo going in? I have a wood shop and could make you some killer stereo surrounds for behind the headrest. It would be awesome!
You are one funny guy!!! I actually pulled about 400 lbs of sub woofers cabinets, and amps out of the car when I bought it. Need 'em? Maybe I could shoot them over to that killer stereo dude you've been jousting with? DM
Congrats Dave!! I've always liked the 430 wheels and your car is the perfect color for them! Now, how about some front challenge grills???? Oh, what a slippery slope it is...........
Yup, Been considering those for some time too. Hey Les, you in the area? Maybe come hang with us this Saturday at C&C? Dave
Dave, I wish I could. I won't be in Philly area until the last weekend in Aug. My "new" 308gtb ('77) should be finished with its current round of "refurbishment" by then and I'll bring it around to make you crazy about wanting an "old" car again! You know how you are!! LoL
Don't torture me. Just getting over not getting the CS I wanted in a deal that went bad at your favorite dealership. I'm not really looking for a new project right now, biz is keeping me, well... busy. DM
Badges. You need badges. And new ground effects/diffuser. Pimp that ride! Carbon-ize the interior and engine bay too while you are at it. Cost is immaterial. Spend your dayughter's inheritance now and let her see the smile on your face.
