    Well, it finally happened. After a great Sunday morning at the Connecticut Gathering in Glastonbury I decided to drive the 348 around a bit. I stopped on my way home to pick up some stuff at the store. When I can out and turned the key in the lock I heard a faint click and then nothing, the key just spun. I was able to get the door to unlock by using the passenger lock which actuated the driver’s side lock. I have searched the forums here and have found the possible issue I need to address, however it looks like it would be best to go into the door via the strakes. I see the bolts in between the strakes, but I am not sure as to how the strakes are removed after taking them out. Is it a simple unbolt and removal of the strakes or is it more involved? Also while I'm in there are there any other items that I should address as preventive maintenance? In a way this is a blessing. I have a set of 355 Challenge door screens I have been aching to install. This would be a good time.

    It only took about 4 years to read the manual that came with my digital camera, but at the insistence of Mike (Ricambi South) I have a new respect for my lowly Canon S3 IS camera and a proper lightbox. This item is literally the size of a pencil eraser.

    Needless to say, my desire to buy a more expensive camera or something with more features or bling has been absolutely crushed. This ol' dog seems like it works just fine. (Now that I understand all these buttons!!)

    I also have an S3-IS, super macro to the rescue!!! Excellent camera, although mine has a sticking iris at the moment.....man that sounds painful lol!!

    Absolutely. It was a combination of using the super-macro and changing the AWB to tungsten fluorescent (or whatever that icon is). I feel like a dummy for never using those settings before. I've been taking all sorts of new shots to see how it works. It is almost TOO MUCH detail, eh? These are brand new items shown below!

    Excellent shots!! Are you using a tripod? The detail is great, perhaps not so good as stock photos due to the look of age on those parts, but a quick photoshop will clean them up.....or some autosol and a quick polish....

    No tripod... in fact, I think the PowerShot must have some type of stablization because I'm always hepped up on espresso and Diet Coke. No Autosol... that is exactly how the parts arrive from suppliers, brand new. Pretty crazy, eh?

    Well, I guess the finish doesn't have to be shiny like chrome for the parts to do the job, would look prettier in the photos though...

    Yep, S3-IS has built in image stabilizer, works well too. I once took a photo of my own fingerprint, the detail was extraordinary, esp since the photo was taken with one hand.

    I love Autosol.....:eek:
